the largest Moon of Saturn

Titan, the largest Moon of Saturn

While here on Earth we are allowing rapacious corporate interests (BP, Halliburton, et.al.) to kill off millions of years of evolution, in another part of our solar system, life may be evolving:

http://www.spacedaily.com/reports/Have_We_Discovered_Evidence_For_Life_On_Titan_999.html

Earlier this year on this blog, (https://fahrusha.wordpress.com/2010/02/05/no-ufo-disclosure-in-sight-in-2010-but-possibly-an-earth-shaking-revelation/) I predicted that while it was unlikely that there would be any government disclosure on U.F.O.s, it was probable that it would be announced in the not so distant future that rudimentary life had been found elsewhere in the universe. I believe that the above referenced report on Titan, the largest moon Saturn, is a vanguard in this important development. The type of life postulated on Titan would be methane based. If that is the case, it would change the way many researchers think about life as strictly a carbon based system.

The Huygens probe, part of the Cassini-Hugyens space mission, was the first Earth based probe to land on Titan. The mission was launched from Earth in 1997 and the Huygens probe landed on January 14, 2005 and continued to send data for about 90 minutes after reaching the surface of Titan. Its discovery of surface liquid revolutionized scientific thought about Titan.

Violent earthquakes shorten the day by milliseconds and can cause subsequent volcanic activity:

http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20527502.600-volcanic-explosions-expected-in-chile-quakes-wake.html

There are likely to be more big earthquakes coming within a year. One reason is polar ice and glaciers melting, causing a shift in water weight and placement.

A guy at the auto channel makes a good but odd case for the verity of UFO sightings: http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2010/03/07/468254.html

The only thing is: we have lots of Toyotas in our possession (the smoking gun) but not one physical UFO in the public domain.

And as if you needed more bad news, dark dangerous asteroids have been found to be crossing Earth’s orbit. Good news is that due to Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) we can now see these objects (burnt out comets?) before they hit us.

Asteroid 2001PT9 missed us on March 3 by 11 lunar distances which is a bit close for comfort.

As of today, March 8, 2010 we again have no sunspots on the sun after a flurry of several months of mild sunspot activity.

Many psychologists, while explaining away the accounts of people who claim they have been abducted by aliens, say that those individuals are victims of sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is a physical condition which allows the body of a dreamer to be immobilized while dreaming thereby preventing the individual from acting out their dreams and perhaps getting injured or killed. If you are dreaming that you are jumping from your fourth story window to fly to France it is evolutionarily advantageous that you are in a state of sleep paralysis, no argument there.

But is sleep paralysis more than that? Does it have another function? I have had various episodes of sleep paralysis since childhood that were both exceedingly terrifying and interesting, however most memorable episodes had an addition element, that of a very fierce and painful vibration in the head and the face, particularly (in my case) in the area around my nose and hypothetical third eye (between the eyes). First I found I couldn’t move (sleep paralysis) but I was awake in my bed in my bedroom. Then my face and head would begin to buzz dramatically. I’d fight it and either succumb or wrangle myself out of the state. Most often I’d be aware of another being in the room with me and more than not I was afraid of that being because it would be attempting to pull me out-of-body against my volition.

My own experiences were varied and mostly terror inducing. I will not cover the complete content of them now. But after I had a UFO sighting in my teen years some of the experiences took on a different flavor. The being in the room with me was repeatedly the same over a large number of years and imparted to me certain information most of which I don’t wish to disclose in this venue at this time, but I will say that I would describe that being as a tall 7-8 foot radiant humanoid with longish blonde hair, a sort of angel without wings. Was it a dream? I don’t know, I don’t believe so. Was I an abductee or contactee? I don’t know. I do know that 17-year-old me wrote a letter to a parapsychology organization, pleading for help to no avail.

It was not until I was an adult a number of years later that I was quite miraculously drawn to the work of Robert Monroe (that is a very fascinating story in itself for another blog piece) that I read of someone (Monroe) who shared the sensations of the fierce vibrations and worked through his fear to have varied out-of-body experiences in which he met a number of unusual beings. The first of his books, Journeys Out of Body, chronicles his experiences with the vibrations and the OOBEs. I also subsequently took several seminars at the Monroe Institute wherein I began to control some of the vibrations and instead of ravaging my head they pulsated pleasantly through my body. I called this phenomena “running energy”. I even went willingly out-of-body! At TMI I met many people who had had similar experiences. I also became aware that these vibrations were more common in spiritual literature than I had ever imagined. I am currently compiling a list of authors and their books, and religious figures who have reported this phenomena. While at TMI, I run energy, but still away from that environment I am sometimes the victim of the fierce vibrations and the sometimes troubling events that follow upon them.

But I wish to leave my own experiences to postulate something of a hypothesis of what could be happening here. A human being (and most mammals) are at their most vulnerable while asleep. They are even more vulnerable when they are in a state of “sleep paralysis”. What if entities, good, harmful or neutral, were aware of the human mammalian function of sleep paralysis and could cause it at will in any susceptible human? That would explain many abduction accounts and also accounts of spiritual revelation. It is possible that all persons who experience the paralysis and the vibrations are not receiving contact from the same beings. According to mathematicians at least eleven dimensions exist in our Universe, though we are sensorially aware of only four. In addition whole parallel universes have been postulated by some scientists. The vibrations would seem to be a crucial part of the ability to receive communication from these beings who may inhabit another dimensional plane. They may need to change our vibration to attempt to communicate with us or transport us into another time space continuum. To some humans, the total loss of volition can be horrifying and can lead to mental suffering as they attempt to make sense of these bizarre experiences.

In terms of alien abduction, it is not known from whence indeed the “aliens” might come. They may be space travellers, time travellers or inter-dimensional travellers or all of the above. What is generally agreed upon is that if they have perfected any of these modes of travel they are more advanced technologically than humans are currently. We are rank beginners in our exploration of the Universe. What we know of Our Universe is so little in comparison to what can be known that we must remain humble in our quest for knowledge.

An interesting look at how we might perceive another dimension can be hound at: http://www.lucidcrossroads.co.uk/astral.htm There are other things on this page that are interesting, but I do not necessarily endorse (nor condemn). The part of the page I am referring to involves an explanation of going from two dimensions into three. Another more detailed example of this can be found in the book, Flatland, A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin Abbott Abbott.

Mars Meteorite NASA image

After careful analysis of the subject I have come to the conclusion that the government is not planning to disclose anything much about what it might know about UFOs (or more accurately, other intelligent life in the cosmos) this year or any year in the near future. I will opine on why I don’t think they will further on in this post.

What I do think will come to light in the near future is corroborating evidence for extraterrestrial microorganisms such as have theoretically been found on meteorites and space rocks. The existence of these microorganisms may explain methane readings on Mars and some outer planets and their moons. This might be a reason that Mars purportedly gets greener at certain times of the year. I have to do a little more personal research on this subject, but I think this is all we are going to get in terms of “disclosure” from officialdom. This in itself is very big news. It would end the argument that our Earth is the only body in space capable of harboring life. It could be argued that if the space microorganisms are irrefutably proven to exist that that would be the biggest science revelation of the modern age.

It may be this forthcoming revelation that the Vatican is getting out in front of with their statements about extraterrestrials being God’s creatures and their seemingly sudden interest in the subject.

It is also a very psychologically gentle entre into possible future disclosures. Almost nobody, upon hearing that single- celled organisms are floating in space on meteors, is going to commit suicide or join a mob outside of Cape Kennedy to storm the gates. People will digest this information largely without incident or trauma. And it follows nicely upon the discovery of exo-planets orbiting distant stars.

Another question about possible UFO (intelligently maneuvered spacecraft) disclosure is who would do the disclosing? To discern this answer we’d have to ask who is most likely to be in possession of the “secret files” if they do exist. The simple answer is those who have a verifiable “need to know”. This short list may not even include our President! My carefully assessed guess would be that any real information, if it exists at all, is buried layers deep in a Defense Intelligence Agency black-ops program. If my guess is correct, the next question is: Who with a ‘need to know’ clearance on this information would benefit from the disclosure of that information to the public? To this I must answer: no one; and therefore logically: no disclosure from government sources.

On March 17, 2010 I have read:

http://news.stv.tv/scotland/north/163021-is-there-life-on-mars/

This corroborates my thesis that we are being led slowly to the disclosure of rudimentary life on other celestial bodies in space.

Update!:

On September 29, 2010 it was announced that a new exoplanet named Gliese 581g was discovered orbiting a red giant star, Gliese 581, in the constellation Libra. There have been 6 planets discovered so far orbiting Gliese 581. What makes this one so special is that it has conditions that are ideal for liquid water as it lies in the so-called habitable zone where temperatures would allow for life as we know it. It is also a rocky planet which would have sufficient mass and gravity to hold liquid water to its surface. As it is neither too hot nor too cold, too big nor too small, too far from its sun nor too close, it has been dubbed “the Goldilocks planet”.

Steven Vogt, a professor of astronomy and astrophysics at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and one of the planet’s discoverers, said “Personally, given the ubiquity and propensity of life to flourish wherever it can, I would say, my own personal feeling is that the chances of life on this planet are 100 percent. I have almost no doubt about it.” Those are fairly definitive words. Thank you Professor Vogt and colleagues!

I have been reading a number of accounts recently about a new crop of cattle mutilations taking place in the Southwest. There have also been reports of mutilations in Great Britain of cattle and perhaps water buffalo. The first thing that must be ascertained is whether there is a pedestrian explanation for any an individual case. Such prosaic explanations would include predatory animals killing livestock or ritual animal murder by a cult. To me ritual murder of animals is repulsive but it is not paranormal. In examining the possibilities concerning those reports that are truly anomalous I have come to the following conclusions: It appears that the killers come by air, because in the truly anomalous cases there are no tracks to be seen. There are also no teeth marks and often the victims have had organs and tissues removed with beyond normal surgical precision. There are often reports of both UFOs and helicopters being seen in the area. Helicopters may indicate that humans are involved and it has been speculated that government agencies are involved. Some people think that the government or some parallel agency is testing for Mad Cow Disease. There is some plausibility to this concept, but why as in the recent case below test four calves from one farm? And why the weird coring procedures? It seems more likely to me that someone in a helicopter, likely from the government, has observed or heard that a mutilation has taken place and is investigating it themselves, but as with many questionable government investigations, will not admit to doing so.

This is reminiscent of reports of UFOs from Stephenville, Texas, wherein certain reliable citizens who made radar verifiable reports were hounded by helicopters and told by phone calls purportedly from Air Force personnel to keep quiet.

There is an even stranger explanation of the helicopters as screen memories. It is speculated that the occupants of UFOs are able to replace memories of accidental observers with more prosaic images, or perhaps the human brains of some observers are not able to process seeing a UFO.

CATTLE MUTILATIONS BAFFLE COLORADO RANCHERS
By DeeDee Correll

http://www.latimes.com/news/nation-and-world/la-na-dead-calves14-2009dec14,0

story

DENVER – Manuel A. Sanchez has ruled out every logical explanation for the
fate that has befallen the calves on his ranch in southern Colorado.

Over the past month, he’s found four calves dead in a way that he cannot
reconcile with anything in his 50 years of raising cattle: eyes and ears
missing, tongues and genitals excised in what appeared to be a series of
fine cuts.

Mountain lions, bears or coyotes would leave messier marks, he said. And
Sanchez found no tire tracks or footprints that would suggest a human
invader — nor even bloodstains he’d expect to find around the carcasses if
someone had butchered them.

“There’s nothing to go by,” said Sanchez, who estimated his financial loss
at $10,000. “I can’t figure it out.”

Costilla County Sheriff’s Sgt. James Chavez agreed: “There’s nothing to
follow up on.”

Besides Sanchez’s calves in San Luis, several cases have been reported near
Trinidad.

It’s not the first time.

In the 1970s, ranchers in eastern and southern Colorado filed more than 200
mutilation reports, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation reports.
The agency investigated, even conducting an undercover operation, but to no
avail.

“It was such a bewilderment,” recalled Tillie Bishop, a state senator at the
time.

Some people suspected satanic cults. Others grew convinced of an
otherworldly explanation — space aliens.

But rancher Bill Bledsoe of Hugo, in eastern Colorado, said the deaths
weren’t suspicious at all.

“People find a dead animal and think it died strange, but usually it turned
out something had been eating on it,” he said. “I think they were just
jumping to conclusions.”

Some veterinarians also attributed the mutilations to predators.

Northern New Mexico suffered scores of cases too. A 1980 report by a state
task force blamed predators. Ranchers widely panned it.

Then the mutilations appeared to stop.

But in the mid-1990s, 27 cattle in northern New Mexico were mutilated in 16
months, the Associated Press reported. Again, ranchers found cattle with
genitals removed, tongues cut off at the roots, and eyes and ears missing.
The incisions appeared to have been cauterized, they said.

Again, the reports stopped.

This year, reports began trickling in from southern Colorado.

In March, Mike Duran discovered a cow dead on his ranch near Trinidad, the
udder and vagina missing. “It was like a laser cut,” not a rip, said Duran.
He’d seen such carnage before: In the ’90s, he found a dead cow missing the
same parts.

Sheriff’s investigators were mystified. “I don’t know how to explain it.
They’re just missing. There’s no evidence of blood, of anything being cut,”
said Las Animas County Undersheriff Derek Navarette.

In northeastern Colorado, some Weld County ranchers joke about “coyotes with
scalpels,” the Greeley Tribune reported. Some don’t bother reporting
mutilations anymore because of skeptics, the paper said.

The Las Animas County sheriff’s office investigated another case in March in
which a cow was missing the udder. There was no sign of human or animal
presence. “Unexplainable once again,” Navarette said.

He said his office didn’t order necropsies because of the prohibitive cost.

About 100 miles away, Sanchez found two dead calves in late October. A week
later, a third carcass was found, and the fourth in mid-November.

Frustrated by the lack of leads, Sanchez consulted Chuck Zukowski, a
Colorado Springs paranormal investigator who runs UFOnut.com.

Zukowski also investigated the cases in Trinidad, taking tissue samples from
two of those animals to Colorado State University.

Veterinary experts determined that the cuts were made before death and
didn’t involve cauterization.

Zukowski says he’s as baffled as everyone else.

Sanchez said that with the mystery unsolved, he didn’t want to risk losing
any of his 32 remaining calves the same way. So he sold them at auction this
month.

“I didn’t know when this was going to end,” said Sanchez, who has 40 cows
left. “There’s no way to catch these people. I don’t even know if it’s
people.”

Colorado cow mutilations baffle ranchers, cops, UFO believer

// ]]>SAN LUIS — Manuel Sanchez tucks his leathery hands into well-worn pockets and nods toward a cedar tree where, last month, he found his fourth mysteriously slaughtered calf in as many weeks.

“I have no idea what could do this. I wish I did,” he says.

Four calves, all killed overnight. Their innards gone. Tongues sliced out. Udders carefully removed. Facial skin sliced and gone. Eyes cored away. Not a single track surrounding the carcasses, which were found in pastures locked behind two gates and a mile from any road. Not a drop of blood on the ground or even on the remaining skin.

In his life in the piñon-patched pastures where his father and grandfather raised cattle, the 72-year-old Sanchez has seen

mountain lions and coyotes kill cattle, elk and deer. He’s seen birds scavenge carcasses. He’s heard of thieves slaughtering livestock in the field for their meat. He can’t explain what he saw last month.”A lion will drag its kill. Coyotes rip and tear flesh. These were perfect cuts — like with a laser or like a scalpel. And what would take the waste — all the guts — and leave the nice, tender meat?” Sanchez says, as he nudges his old Ford through rutted trails, rosary beads swinging from his rearview mirror. “No tracks. No blood. No nothing. I got nothing to go by. They don’t leave no trace.”

Every rancher who has reported similar cattle deaths — and there have been at least eight such deaths in southern Colorado this year — uses the same description.

“They just stripped this one,” says Tom Miller, who in March was one of three ranchers near Trinidad who discovered mutilated cattle.

Cow raises the alarm

One morning, he went out to his concrete troughs to feed his herd of about 80 red and black Angus cows and calves. The herd was racing about. A cow that a week before had birthed a calf was bellowing, “raising all kind of devil,” Miller says.

The remains of a calf killed on Manuel Sanchez’s ranch show the killer’s odd predilection for entrails. (Photo courtesy of Chuck Zukowski)

There by the trough — past the locked gate a quarter-mile from U.S. 350 east of Hoehne — was the calf. Its front legs and torso were gone. Its back legs were hanging by hide to a shattered pelvis and a meatless backbone. Miller thought a pack of coyotes had torn into the calf the night before.

Then he saw the ears: sliced off the head in circular, surgical-like cuts. He noticed that there were no tracks. And no blood anywhere.

“If anyone can show me how this happened, I will believe them. I know it’s not coyotes, especially in one night. Only a human or something like that can cut the ears like that,” says Miller, a 72-year-old rancher who was raised on the prairie bordering the Purgatoire River.

“If it was done by people, they sure went out of their way to bother and confuse me. And really, why? It doesn’t make any sense.”

Mysteriously mangled

Colorado Brand Inspector Dennis Williams came out and looked at Miller’s calf. He lives next door; the calf would be the last of three strangely mutilated cattle that he would investigate in March of this year.

“I’ve heard about it. It was weird, to say the least. Totally unexplainable. To me, it looked like that calf had been dropped from a high distance, the way its hips were dislocated and all its broken bones,” Williams says.

That same month, ranchers had called Williams to grisly scenes northeast of Aguilar and west of Weston to investigate mysteriously mangled cattle that had been seen healthy the day before.

To add to the weirdness, Sanchez, Miller and Mike Duran, who found a sliced Red Angus cow near Weston in March, have all experienced similar mutilations before. Sanchez lost cows in 2006 and 1993, Miller in 1997 and 1980, and Duran in 2000 and 1995.

“It’s weird and unexplainable,” says Duran, who lost a healthy 27-year-old Red Angus cow on March 8, her udder and rear end removed with what he describes as “laser cuts, like when somebody cuts metal with a torch.”

Cops, like Williams and the ranchers, are stumped.

“We can’t come up with anything,” says Las Animas County sheriff’s Deputy Derek Navarette, who investigated the Miller and Duran calves.

“We’ve seen these before and they are all kind of the same. No one has ever explained it. Northern New Mexico has had some of these same cases, and in those cases they never got any further than we did.”

Predators ruled out

Chuck Zukowski of Colorado Springs investigated three of the eight mutilated cows in southern Colorado this year. The amateur UFO investigator and reserve deputy in El Paso County documents each scene, testing for radiation and scanning carcasses with ultraviolet light.

Despite his extraterrestrial inclinations, Zukowski’s studies — found on his ufonut.com website — fall short of concluding anything paranormal. He seems certain all the animals he studied were killed and drained before they were sliced, which explains the lack of blood found near the animals.

The way the tongues were sliced off in straight lines back behind the teeth indicates it is not a predator kill, he says.

“I’m looking for obvious things,” Zukowski says. “I don’t like to say aliens did it. There are just too many unknowns. I like to lean on human intervention until I actually see a UFO come down and take a cow.”

Sanchez is a salt-of-the-earth-type fellow who put three kids through college running cattle. Yet, he says he and his wife marveled at incandescent blue lights hovering over a ridge near his pastures in July and August. He declined to speculate about the lights.

“I just say the truth and that’s what I saw,” he says.

Duran, on the other hand, is willing to take the next step. He’s looked at it from every angle, he says. If it wasn’t human and wasn’t a predator, he says, there’s only one other option.

“I do believe it was UFOs. This universe is so big, a lot of people think we are the only ones here,” he says, declining to guess why aliens harbor such bloody disdain for bovines.

“I bet there is something out there.”

This last one is really worth the time to go to the site and check out the video, comments, map and additional photos.
I’d also advise interested readers to look at Linda Moulton Howe’s website
because she is the person who won an Emmy award for her investigative film on the subject in the past and there are many informative articles there on the subject if you scroll down the page.
Another person who has made interesting speculation into possible reasons for an interdimensional or extra-terrestrial visitor too is Carol Rainey in the book Sight Unseen: Science, UFO Invisibility and Transgenic Beings of which there is a short review on this weblog. If you think I’m being partial in this article to female investigators perhaps you are right. 🙂

Two books I’ve recently finished are Sight Unseen: Science, UFO Invisibility and Transgenic Beings by Budd Hopkins and Carol Rainey and Walking Through Walls by Philip Smith. Both books are about different areas of the paranormal, but they have something else in common which is dear to my heart: the authors are artists and also deeply interested in anomalous events (just like me :-)). It seems that having those interests in common are far from unusual.

Carol Rainey

In Sight Unseen, Hopkins (also a painter) and Rainey (also a filmmaker) explore some truly bizarre experiences a variety of people have had with purported aliens and hybrid alien/humans (transgenic beings). Budd Hopkins has spent many years researching the abduction phenomena and Carol Rainey adds much insight in terms of possible scientific theories which might explain some of the experiences. The story which stayed with me was that of “Mr. Paige”, an odd but gentle individual that came to stay with a family and had an unusual relationship with a child of that family. Was he not human? Hard to say, but very intriguing. I’ve been aware of very odd persons without auras, but are they aliens or transgenic beings? I believe that Jacques Vallee also made mention of Mr. Paige in one of his books.

Budd Hopkins

Walking Through Walls is the story of interior decorator/psychic healer Lew Smith from the perspective of his son Philip Smith, a painter. It gives a window into the world of a child and teenager growing up in Florida with a parent who is immersed in the paranormal. Smith’s writing style is breezy and sometimes very humorous. Especially valuable to me was his description of a session with spiritualist/psychic Sophie Busch. My grandmother often mentioned having gone to see Sophie Busch on several occasions but I hadn’t read of her in the literature before. Smith’s description added an extra dimension to my memories of my grandmother’s experiences as told to me.

Both books demand that the reader suspend disbelief and have an open mind. I think they are both worthwhile to be read by individuals who have a strong interest in the paranormal.

Whitley Streiber has written an exciting new novel that I just finished reading. Mr. Streiber is famous for his personal alien and UFO contact and abduction memoirs and his current event driven work like The Coming Global Superstorm which was the basis of the movie The Day After Tomorrow. Once I started Critical Mass, I couldn’t stop reading, it really held my interest.

The current event topic of the novel is loose nuclear material, a subject which seems rather neglected in the media considering the lethal importance it could have on our lives. I am not a nuclear weapons expert, but the general thesis of the book seemed quite plausible. I did not mind that in the lead character, Jim Deutsch, is embodied a superman. He could not be stopped, he was never deterred from his task. In a real life situation the work he accomplished would likely have been completed by a task force, but turning him into a sort of super hero was a literary device that allowed the reader to become invested in the outcome for the protagonist.

The Arab-American brother and sister who were the most prominent auxiliary characters were well drawn. I was particularly impressed with the character of the brother, whose public persona was miles from his private inner reactionary self. Though an exaggeration in the novel, it is not uncommon in life.

The ending was OK but slightly anticlimactic, which is not surprising given the incredible amount of exciting and terrifying action in the story.

Although I can recommend Critical Mass as entertaining reading (which it definitely is), the underlying message of the danger of unaccounted for fissionable materials cannot be overstated.

Kristen Ann Winslet

Kristen Ann Winslet

Flying Saucers & Aliens are a part of modern day Americana with film, books and music all getting involved in the subject. Throughout history mankind has been fascinated with looking up at the stars and wondering if we are truly alone. This question is what got Kristen Ann Winslet, a mild mannered financial & business analyst from rural northern New Jersey involved in a search for the truth. As early as the late 70’s with the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Kristen became fascinated with the thought that we are not alone in the universe.

Today, Kristen uses her analytical skills to investigate reports of unidentified flying objects and/or lights seen in the sky through a volunteer organization called the Mutual UFO Network, (MUFON). The organization was founded in 1969 by Walt Andrus and John Schuessler. MUFON has grown into the premier UFO investigative organization in the United States today. To become a member of MUFON and to become a Field Investigator, please refer to the web site for more information. There are roughly 3,000 members in the organization today and the organization is getting ready to celebrate it’s 40th Anniversary this summer at it’s annual symposium which will be held in Denver, Colorado.

The investigative process begins when a witness reports seeing an Unidentified Flying Object, (UFO) on MUFON’s web site. The MUFON Case Management System, (CMS) was developed to gather statistical and other important information about reported cases for analysis purposes. The focus of MUFON is based on the scientific study of the UFO Phenomenon through the collection of this statistical information pertaining to these reports. It is hoped that by methodically collecting all of this data, that the organization can pull out real business language results to help bring us closer to understanding the UFO Phenomenon.

Kristen joined the organization a few years ago after learning of the organization through the television series ‘The X Files’. Through the series, she became very intrigued in the investigative techniques used in the series She thought that with her skills as an analyst, and her long time interest in the great question, ‘Are We Alone’ that it might make sense for her to at least join the organization to learn more about what MUFON was all about.

After an experience she had in the summer of 2007, she decided to become a Field Investigator, Kristen says; ‘I still struggle today to try to understand what it was that my brother and I witnessed in the sky over Annandale, NJ. It was a dark brown saucer shaped object traversing across the sky with a raised dome in the center and it traveled without any sound in broad daylight ! The object was about 35 feet in diameter. As a pilot, it was something that I just could not explain scientifically based on my understanding of current aerodynamics and laws of physics. I was compelled to become a Field Investigator for MUFON”.

Kristen ordered the Filed Investigator’s Manual in order to pass the test to become a MUFON Field Investigator. She took the test in late 2007. She included her resume with the exam’s answer form in order to allow Chuck Reever who is MUFON’s Chief Investigator, to review her profile. She felt that she wanted to go beyond what a typical Field Investigator did because of her passion for the subject. A few days later Chuck called Kristen and said that she passed the test and he wanted to know if she was interested in becoming a member of MUFON’s Star Team. Because of her skill sets from her resume, Chuck told her that he was interested in having her join a new team specifically organized to investigate high profile cases.

The Star Team (Strike Team for Area Research) as it was named is tapped to be a rapid deployment strike team in a case where the Press is involved or there is possible evidence at the site where there may have been a UFO landing. Shortly after the team was developed, James Carrion who is the International Director of MUFON contacted Kristen and asked if she would design an emblem to represent the STAR Team. She had designed emblems before for a few shuttle astronaut crews years ago as well as for other non-profit organizations like the National Space Society. After a few minor changes made by the other members of the team, the emblem was approved. With just over a year of investigative experience, Kristen has completed fifty cases with a number of these cases being associated with a STAR Team deployment.

The Case of the UFO Balloons. Kristen received a call by Richard Lang who is the STAR Team Director on the afternoon of January 6, 2009 while she was on the road preparing for a job interview. Richard said that a case was developing in the northern New Jersey area near Morristown as a result of an incident the evening before. Richard asked if she could quickly deploy to investigate the case as there were a number of CMS case reports filed. Without hesitation, Kristen acknowledged and accepted the case. That night, the case hit the 6 O’clock news on CBS in New York City; “Strange Red Lights Over Morris County, N.J.” She prepared to get organized for her field investigation work that would commence in the morning.

The Investigation in the Field: The next morning, Kristen set out to investigate the case. She first read each of the cases filed and printed out a copy to have with her so that she had all the necessary information with her while she was in the field. She traveled to Cedar Knolls, Morristown, Madison and then the Morristown Municipal Airport near Florham Park, N.J. She took pictures of her travels as she entered each municipality identifying the locations where she performed her investigation. While in Madison, although she was not able to gain access to an area where debris had supposedly landed, she drove around the perimeter of that secured location looking up in trees for anything suspicious. Kristen had analyzed the video from the news the night before and suspected that the objects were incendiary devices attached to balloons. The news clip reminded her of the strange lights over Phoenix from a few years back.

While driving in the area, she took a photograph of something in a tree that looked suspicious and then completed the rest of her field work before driving home. Once home, she looked at the photos and began to write her report. The suspicious object in a tree was included in her report. In the mean time, Marc Dantonio who performs photo analysis for MUFON had identified the objects in the video as being Chinese Lanterns. While preparing the case, Kristen remembered investigating a case in September that was very similar to this case so she pulled out the case file from her cabinet of ‘X – Files’ and included that case report in her analysis. She then decided that she should begin to prepare a Case Study Report on these two cases in the form of a PowerPoint presentation in the event that other incidents occurred.

Weeks later, more cases did occur and Kristen continued her analysis of each of these cases pulling out similarities and documenting the evidence. As time progressed Kristen began to prepare a suspect list behind these events. In early March she completed her Case Study Report after seeing the Wikipedia Web Page called ‘Morristown UFO’. It was here on this web page that all the evidence came together. Kristen noticed the damning evidence in two places on that web site. First, she noticed that the only video linked on that page was provided by Joe Rudy. The second and last piece of evidence was a remark that Joe Rudy and Chris Russo were traveling on Hanover Avenue and had taken Video and Still images of the incident. That was the clincher . . . they were prepared to document the event with Video AND still photo’s !!!

Case Disposition “Hoax – Event”: On March 15, 2009, Kristen completed her report and mailed a paper copy to her New Jersey State Director, Retired USAF Maj. George Filer III. She also mailed a copy of the report to Matt Wilson, a Field Investigator from southern New Jersey who had assisted her on the February 7th cases pertaining to these events. Kristen was in the process of training Matt who is one of MUFON’s newest Field Investigators.

On April 1st, 2009 an article in Newsweek identified Joe Rudy & Chris Russo as being the two individuals who pulled off the UFO Balloon Hoax. What Newsweek did not know was that MUFON, who was never contacted by anyone had not only immediately identified the case as a hoax, but later through analysis, had identified these two men as having been the individuals who pulled off the hoax.

Comments may be left on the blog.

Kristen is also available for commentary about the case and/or follow-up via e-mail: kristenwinslet@aol.com

On Saturday, April 11, 2009, the Friends of the Institute of Noetic Science (FIONS) celebrated their 20th anniversary with a full day’s worth of interesting events. The day began with a delicious brunch at the home of two gracious members on the Upper West Side. Although the food was superb the highlight of the brunch was a discussion with Dr. Edgar Mitchell, the sixth human to walk on the Moon and the founder of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, and crop circle expert Colin Andrews. In that discussion I was able to bring up the subject of disinformation in the UFO community and who might be responsible for that disinformation and to what end the disinformation is being disseminated.

After the brunch there was a general meeting at SUBUD downtown at 2:00 p.m. followed at 2:30 by a fascinating lecture about crop circles by Colin Andrews. This was the first lecture given by Mr. Andrews in several years and it was very interesting. He spoke of some of his anomalous experiences with sound inside and in the area of the circles.

Dr Mitchell gave a lecture about the future and the changes that have taken place on the planet in the past century. His grandparents emigrated to the West in a horse drawn wagon. His parents were alive when the Wright Brothers flew the first airplane and he walked on the Moon! He emphasized that the population tripled from 2 billion around 1900 to over 6 billion in 2000. The equation is now out of balance. We should continue to explore Space. He says it has been conclusively proven to him that we have been visited by extraterrestrials and that the Roswell crash was the real deal. There were students present from the High School of Aviation in Queens and they were encouraged to ask questions.

As an experiencer, I was very moved by his talk. When I was a little girl I wanted to become an astronaut very much. Astronauts were the greatest heroes of my childhood. My father felt psychically that the Space Program would produce many fatalities, especially amongst women, and threatened to shoot me in the legs if I attempted to board a rocket bound for space. Needless to say I boarded no rockets, but I never lost my interest in the Cosmos.

During February there were approximately four earthquakes in New Jersey, three of which were centered in Morris County. This is not an area known for earthquakes although I have heard that there is a fault under Lake Hopatcong. The first earthquake was felt on February 3, 2009 and was a 3.0 on the Richter scale. People said it was like a truck had been dropped from a high elevation and others said it felt more like an explosion than an earthquake. It should be noted that 3 of the 4 earthquakes were centered a short distance from the U.S. Army’s Picatinny Arsenal and some local residents wonder if there was not an underground mishap. My own experience with earthquakes is limited to two I experienced in Manhattan. They both felt like a subway had been rerouted directly under my building, however one was centered in the Upper East River and the other in nearby Connecticut. If there is a fault running under Lake Hopatcong one wonders about the advisability of underground weapons storage a mile or two away!

There have also been numerous reports of UFOs having been seen in January and February. Some skeptics have concluded that the reports represent Chinese lanterns but the observers dispute this. Here are some reports:

http://www.northjersey.com/news/aroundnj/ufo010609.html

http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20090130/UPDATES01/90130019

http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20090218/UPDATES01/90218034

There are some precedents for the confluence of UFOs and earthquakes. Some researchers believe that powerful electromagnetic fields before earthquakes can disrupt activity in the temporal lobes, causing people to see lights in the sky.

http://www.fortunecity.com/emachines/e11/86/ufo.html

Here is a report from Peru about UFOs and lights being seen before a during a larger earthquake:

http://www.ufoarea.com/aas_lightsintheskyduringearthquakeinperu_sr.html

So this is basically a known phenomena that can be researched on the web and in the literature. In Morris County the red lights in the sky were mostly seen in late January, directly before the earthquakes in early February.

April 10, 2009 Note: Apparently two hooligans have confessed to faking the UFOs by launching flares with balloons. They created an aviation hazard and proved NOTHING. Because it is possible to fake something does not mean that all UFO phenomena are faked.

Oddly, the only place I’ve seen a UFO has been in Morris County. The first time was when I was about twelve years old at Cozy Lake. This was the real deal and was witnessed by 15 to 20 other individuals including police officers. (I plan to go into this at great length at another time.) The second time was about 12 years later while passing a reservoir on Route 23 and I am the least positive about this sighting as I was driving by myself to a job. The third and most recent time was on Route 46 this past September around Pine Brook (Morris Co.)/Fairfield (Essex Co.). I am a sky watcher and was looking up toward the North north east and I saw a silver glint in the clear blue sky. I assumed it was an airplane but as I continued to watch it, I could discern no wings, no tail and no windows. It looked like an aluminum or steel barrel with struts around it. Then it winked out of sight. Later I saw several accounts of cylinders being seen as nearby as Staten Island on George Filer’s Filer’s Files.

The other issue here is that I’ve noticed a general increase in public interest in UFOs during the last 18 months. More people I’m speaking to seem to be buzzing about them and this past week on the Paracast I heard Richard Dolan opine that some information might be shortly forthcoming from government informants.

I feel so happy and privileged to know people who write books. In the past few years I’ve lost two author friends, Captain Arthur Haggerty and Serena Wilson. My world lost some of its luster when they passed on. Both of them changed my life for the better. Cap was really my best friend for many years. He wrote primarily about dog training and he helped me to get my late dog, Junior Pie, into show business. One of his books, Dog Tricks, was co-written by Carol Lea Benjamin, who has written a series of dog inspired mysteries that I love to read, and who I am privileged to have met several times in conjunction with Captain Haggerty! Serena Wilson was my first official teacher of Middle Eastern Dance and a dear friend as well. She wrote The Serena Technique of Bellydancing with her husband Alan Wilson, also a friend.

When I first met Lauren Raine I felt I must have known her in a previous life. So familiar her story and so compatible her personality, she is surely a spiritual sister. She has published a work of great brilliance, Masks of the Goddess. This limited edition art book comprises and chronicles her work of many years. She is featured in several other of my blog pieces on this site.

Frank DeMarco is primarily a writer on metaphysical subjects and a founder of Hampton Roads Books and most recently Hologram Books. His 2008 offering, Babe In The Woods, is both metaphysical and very practical. For anyone who has ever thought about taking a seminar at the Monroe Institute, DeMarco has provided a detailed guide couched in a delightful story that is a thinly veiled account of his own first experience at this awesome place. I personally can’t wait to get back there. Frank DeMarco is one of the wonderfully wise and witty characters one might meet if they venture to the Institute and its surrounding community.

I’m Allergic is Missy Harris‘s first childrens’ book and hopefully not the last. It is a charming book for both those kids with allergies and their young friends who don’t understand what the concept means. I believe that the book provides a great service in telling children who don’t suffer with allergies what happens in the experience of those that do.

All the other books mentioned here have been published in 2008. I feel compelled to mention another book, The Lure of The Edge by Brenda Denzler, published in 2001 but which I only found out about in November of 2008. Finding it was a very serendipidous synchonicity. I was browsing a library catalog for intelligently written books about UFOs when I saw Brenda’s very familiar name. Could it be the very same person with whom I’d been corresponding on an internet listseve about other subjects? Indeed it was. It is written very thoughtfully on an extremely charged subject and it deals with, among other things, the onus that falls on many professionals who entertain the reality of UFOs and the unwillingness of much of the scientific community to look further into the UFO mystery.

I have been involved in a few interesting web-based activities in the meditational/psychic area of late that are open to all. First is the Peace Intention Experiment promoted and planned by Lynn McTaggart of Living In The Field. Every day this week just past noon, participants focus on the same target. The intention is to lower violence in the targeted area by having thousands of individuals meditate on peace there. The target is the Wanni region of Sri Lanka that has been wracked with violence for years (1983) due to a civil war. Currently the experiment is still in progress and I hope to be able to report that there have been positive results when the effects have been tabulated.

I have also been listening to some fascinating podcasts, most outstandingly The Paracast. While I don’t agree with everything the hosts, Gene Steinberg and David Biedny, say, they certainly are on the same page with me! Their presentations are interesting and extremely informative interviews with individuals at the forefront of paranormal investigations like Nick Pope, Philip Imbrogno, Dr. Steven Greer, Jan W. Vandersande and many, many others. Steinberg and Biedny are not “true believers” and they are not debunkers, they are critical thinkers with well thought out questions for their guests. I highly recommend their podcast if you have an interest in anomalies and thirst for some stimulating discussion on the subject. Many, but not all of the programs deal with the UFO phenomena.

I have also signed up with the Arlington Institute to participate in a premonitions project they are beginning. Honestly I have not been able to figure out the website as to how it works. Hopefully it will become clearer. Maybe there will be more on this later too.

Hats off to Larry King. He may be doing more for U.S. government disclosure of the truth about what the government knows about UFOs than anyone else (except maybe Dr. Steven Greer). His CNN show is very high profile and primetime and he has had the courage to do several very open-minded shows on the subject during this year. Often broadcasters make fun of sightings and credible witnesses in such a way that others, fearing for their reputation, do not come forth.

His courage has had a snowballing effect. Now Astronaut Edgar Mitchell declared that our government has definite knowledge of UFOs and their extraterrestrial occupants. “I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we’ve been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real,” Dr Mitchell said. “It’s been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it’s leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it. I’ve been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes – we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it’s been happening quite a bit.”

Listen to Dr. Edgar Mitchell’s interview here.

Larry King recently aired a show wherein former government employees admitted that they had seen UFOs (in several different incidents) and that those UFOs interacted with our weapon systems, effectively shutting some of them down.

In another related story, a follow-up to the Stephenville Lights saga, a former government aeronautic investigator (notably on the downed flight 800), Glen Schultze, analyzed the radar returns for the sightings at Stephenville and discovered that there was a large object without the requisite radar beacons required on all government, commercial, and private aircraft. Perhaps coincidentally, that object appeared to be headed toward Crawford, TX.

Add to this that the Vatican astronomer, Reverend José Gabriel Funes, head of the Vatican Observatory and a scientific adviser to Pope Benedict XVI, referring to life on other planets, has made the pronouncement that there may exist “extraterrestrial brothers” who are more advanced than humans, and that these beings may have been created without “original sin”. May I be the first to say that if I come across an “extraterrestrial brother” in my travels, perhaps the very last thing that I, personally, will be thinking about is whether he was created without “original sin”.

My friend and MUFON investigator, John Yates, favors us with an on-site report of what is going on with the Stephenville Lights investigation.

In no particular order, here is what I remember of meeting: Room was full of “members only”, no-press allowed meeting of D/FW MUFON on Sunday March 9th. State Director of MUFON Ken Cherry and State Director of Field Investigations Steve Hudgins reported on the investigation conducted in Stephenville/Dublin Texas area. This is a long hour’s drive from the Dallas/Ft Worth Texas cities. The reporter from the local newspaper there and several MUFON Investigators that conducted interviews also reported to the group..

Bottom line after interviewing over 200 “witnesses” and seeing several video clips.pictures, etc is that nothing definitive has been presented to be able to say the sightings were ” a___________”. Data are still being analyzed and this includes more video camera material. Watch for major television program in March/April. With one possible exception, fraud has not been suspected so far in the investigation.
Comments included these blurbs: This area is rural and located in the Bible belt. The expected crowd to come in and “testify” was to be about 50. Over 400 people showed up including tons of media—–trucks, TV cameras, the whole shebang. A few of the science-type channels spent a week or more in the area.
This was not a “first-time, one-time” sighting. It has been going on in this area for years.
Over 80% of the people requested anonymity and the so-called “lunatic-fringe” that show up at events such as this were not in evidence
Much of the testimony came from local law enforcement persons. Those who have read of this event will remember the Air Force and their reactions. First denial, finally a report of F-16s in the area and then denial of this. In a follow-up session for others to come in and “testify”, seventeen people added to the data.
For the most part, the press coverage, radio, TV has been straight-up. None of the little green men type of reporting.
Again, the people reporting these events include pilots, law officers, professional types and people that are well aware of “normal ” aircraft.
Stay tuned for more when available.
John Yates, MUFON Field Investigator

Short post here. There is a fake Stephenville website out there.

Angelia Joiner’s authentic site is www.stephenvillelights.com.

The inauthentic site is http://www.stephensvillelights.com. Don’t be fooled!

George Filer gets a well deserved awardAtlantic City’s Trump Plaza was the site of the Atlantic Coast UFO Conference over the weekend of February 15th, 16th, and 17th. I had the great pleasure of attending. On Friday night there was a cocktail party which most of the presenters attended. During that event George Filer of Filer’s Files was honored with a lifetime achievement award. You can access Filer’s Files at http://www.ufoinfo.com/filer/index.shtml. The award was presented by Peter Robbins and Jackie Perkins.
Kathleen Marden And FahrushaIn an earlier post I wrote about a wonderful book, Captured! The Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience written by Kathleen Marden, the niece of Betty Hill, and Stanton Friedman. I was fortunate enough to chat with Kathy Marden at the cocktail party.
All Saturday and Sunday were filled with very interesting lectures by experts in the field. Don Ledger spoke of a UFO sighting in Nova Scotia. He wrote Dark Object with Chris Styles and Whitley Strieber. Paola Harris, author of Connecting the Dots talked about Exopolitics and focused on her experiences with Colonel Corso.
Kathleen Marden discussed interesting newly revealed aspects of Betty and Barney Hill’s UFO experience. Dr. Lynne Kitei showed her award winning Phoenix Lights documentary and spoke at length about her personal experiences in the paranormal. She also favored the audience with a beautiful song at the end of her presentation.
Peter Davenport is an extremely well spoken representative and director (since 1994) of NUFORC, the National UFO Reporting Center. He spoke about some very interesting sightings he investigated in the Northeast. Sam Maranto is a regional director of the Mutual UFO Network. He showed many slides of sightings that he investigated in the Ohio region. They are both clearly very thorough researchers. Steve Bassett is a UFO investigator and political activist. He is the executive director of the Paradigm Research Group dedicated to looking into the relationship of UFOs and extraterrestrials to the government and trying to get the truth about them from the government. I’d say he’s really got his work cut out for him.
Tom Carey co-wrote Witness to Roswell: Unmasking the 60-Year Cover-Up and he presented compelling evidence about the crash in 1947. He emphasized the fact that the original witnesses are dying off at a prodigious pace and a number of them have made deathbed confessions as to what happened there. Peter Robbins also co-wrote a book, Left at East Gate, with a former military man who was a witness to the Rendlesham Forest UFO encounter. I had heard about this incident before but never in such breathtaking detail. Farah Yurdozu is from Turkey but now resides in the US. She spoke about possible connections between extraterrestrials and the deities of ancient mythologies, particularly Turkish mythology.
Richard Dolan really impressed me with the intense research he has done and is doing on the history of UFOs and how this subject pertains to national security. This is the first time I have truly understood why and how the government would cover-up evidence of UFO sightings. He lays this out plainly in his first volume, UFOs and the National Security State, An Unclassified History, Volume One: 1941-1973. I can’t wait for Volume Two! While most of the presenters impressed me with their acumen and credibility, Mr. Dolan really blew me away.
Finally I must thank Jackie Perkins, without whose tireless efforts this conference would never have come to be. I enjoyed myself immensely while receiving some great insights. I am so glad I attended.

It’s not over yet in Stephensville, Texas. Sightings continue. The following is a quote from an eye witness: “Also this one was more stationary and not bouncing around like the night of Jan. 8. Now, you cannot see it with the naked eye but it was spinning. And the guy that called said he could see it spinning through the telescope. But, he said he could see something attached to the top and the bottom, something like a capsule or some kind of object. He also told me it was bouncing around in his telescope view but didn’t bounce around when viewing with the naked eye.” Constable Lee Roy Gaitan

The complete article with photograph & video: http://www.stephenvillelights.com/

This brings me to speculate further that these visitors could be from the future due to the spinning motion of the craft. Or perhaps the Air Force is working on a time machine and that is why they are intent on shutting up the vocal witnesses.

Here is a link to a you-tube video explaining spinning and time travel:

YouTube – Discovery – First Time Machine

I believe time would stop totally if the Universe stopped spinning and moving. My argument with physical “in the biological body” time travel has always been that we are not anywhere nearly in the same place in the Universe that we were, say, 100 years ago. The Earth is spinning and also circumnavigating its orbit around the Sun. The Sun is orbiting the Milky Way Galaxy and the galaxy is also traveling through the Universe. But if you view Earth as static and everything else moving relative to it, does that change anything? I don’t know.
