Two photos I took late last year could be pareidolia or ???

Pareidolia is the phenomenon of recognizing patterns, shapes, and familiar objects in a vague and sometimes random stimulus, says RationalWiki.org. Faces are thought to be the most common things seen as an effect of pareidolia.

Photo taken by Fahrusha on November 15,2018

Multiple faces can be seen beside the cat witch nightlight.

Photo taken by Fahrusha on December 8, 2018

This is a shadow caused by towels hung on a hook in a bathroom. Seeing these faces while alone in a quiet place can be somewhat unsettling to the average person. Each individual must decide for herself where pareidolia ends and anomalous experiences begin.

An amusing case of precognition occurred while I was attempting to get some exercise this past Sunday. I was walking with a companion around a half mile plus Rundgang around a large pond or small lake. To break the monotony, I sometimes make up silly simple songs to sing softly to keep myself amused. These ditties are generally very absurd stream of consciousness numbers like:

Emergen-cy

Brain surgery

Is not for me.

Is not for me!

At a particular point on the path and out of no where, I began to sing:

Doggie treats are good to eat

For me and you

And doggies too.

Eat some doggie treats today.

Woof woof. Yum yum!

Granted, this is nonsensical and silly but exercise for the sake of exercise can be mind numbingly boring. I stopped singing and continued to walk around the path sometimes pumping my arms for extra exercise benefits. When I got around the lake to the same place where I had been singing my impromptu doggie treats song about 20 minutes earlier, there stood a tiny elderly lady in a winter coat, Hello Kitty pajama bottoms and an unusual thick embroidered helmet hat. Very elfin. She was with a younger man who could have been her son. In her hand she had a pouch of dog treats and was handing them out to two smartly attired Scottie dogs who were walking with a woman on the path. None of those people or dogs were present during my earlier circumnavigation. The elfish pixie and her companion continued to walk very slowly around the body of water and stopped twice more to give other dogs some treats.

The key to this precognitive event, I think, is the use of my stream of consciousness for the silly songs, freeing up my mind. What made it memorable was the fey and whimsical appearance of the little lady who was well under five feet tall.

There is a lot of discussion in the media about gender dysphoria. This blog post does not intend to make light of the subject, but this post is largely not about gender dysphoria. Tangentially it does play a small part. I was listening to an interview with a prominent paranormal thinker who noticed that oftentimes psychic readers, professional intuitives, and paranormal practitioners come from the population of marginalized individuals and communities. He particularly mentioned those in the LGBTQ community and the gender dysphoric. This may be true, but a large number of readers and psychics I am acquainted with are straight females, myself included. But this is not the actual topic of this post. And a hearty welcome to those intuitives from that community!

On a page on FaceBook, I made some disparaging remark about the destructiveness of the human race on the planet Earth. I was not faulting any particular person or group. A man with whom I am vaguely familiar, shot back at me something to the effect that he was tired of all the self-flagellating whiners like me. This surprised me deeply, not because he was critical of my stance, I rather expect that. It surprised me because it revealed something to me about myself, of which I was not so acutely aware. Something that I doubt he could have imagined. I did not think I was self-flagellating in the least because somewhere in my mind I do not identify with being human. I do identify with being in an animal body. I eat and like to have shelter and have sexual thoughts like humans and other mammals. I speak a human language but have as much kinship with cats and trees as humans. I also have what appears to be a human body and I often wear clothes. I wish all humans well and sincerely hope for a positive solution to human problems, but I don’t think that it looks at all promising. I have thought to blame my Neanderthal genes for seeing humans as destructive, but confidantes have laughed at that. It does make some sense to me that ancestral memories of Cro-Magnons invading and destroying the lifestyle of some of my predecessors could be a cause. This could jibe with seeing humans as “others”. By the way, one of those confidantes refers to himself as a Yeti (you know who you are). 🙂

Others have kindly suggested that perhaps this species dysphoria is because I am highly evolved spiritually. Personally I doubt it. Although I do think I subscribe to Robert Monroe’s primary statement, “You are more than your physical body.” And I do appreciate the approach of some North American indigenous people in envisioning other species as brothers and sisters and seeing the environment as sacred.

So many people who align themselves with spirituality or religion view things from a human-only point of view, seeking to reach an anthropomorphic Godhead of some sort, believing that a Supreme One somehow sets mankind on some evolutionary pinnacle as more important than other terrestrial beings. They also think that if angels or extraterrestrials or discarnate beings exist, that those beings wish to communicate specifically and only with humans. This hubris astounds me. Perhaps they’d rather communicate with rocks.

I think a whole lot more could be learned about paranormal phenomena if seen from a position that is non-species specific. We all operate some of the time on a subjective basis; the “it’s all about me” stance that some never have moved beyond, ever. So it is natural that as a group humans might view all intelligent paranormal phenomena as being about humans and directed towards humans. Now conversely, I do think that it is highly possible that some paranormal phenomena originates with individuals (human or animal or plant or non-respirating), but please note that a substantial portion of those humans in the modern era, who have displayed psychokinetic abilities, attribute them to extraterrestrials. Make of that what you wish.

Is this post somewhat tongue in cheek? I’m not sure and neither are you.

The day was so cold I wasn’t sure I’d make it to yoga class. I was in the bathroom washing and getting dressed while planning my strategy. If I wasn’t ready in time I’d have to go to the gym instead and be bored senseless on the treadmill.

My mind wandered. I started thinking about making a headband. The best way might be to crochet one in an alternating rib stitch. That would give it a bit of elasticity and keep my hair off my face and my ears warm. What color should it be? Maybe close to my hair color which is a light auburn brown. Would I ever get the time to do such a thing? I continued musing that I used to do such things fairly regularly. Where does my time go nowadays?

I was out the door in plenty of time to make the yoga class, in fact I was there before the teacher. A young woman with cropped black hair walked in two minutes later. Bizarrely she was wearing the very same hair band that I had a half hour prior considered making, crocheted in an alternating rib stitch in a muted brick red. I asked her if she had crocheted herself and she looked at me as though I might be slightly daft and mumbled something about her mother. She was clearly uninterested in chatting with me about it, which was okay, but I was a bit blown away. This was clearly not a commercially common head band but the very one I had imagined making.

This is the kind of thing that happens to me on a regular basis and I don’t often write about. Was it synchronicity, intention or precognition? I honestly don’t know and am not sure if the word matters. It is what makes everyday life magical.

The levitation of Daniel Dunglas Home, interpreted in a lithograph from Louis Figuier, Les Mystères de la science 1887.

In March 2016, “Shattered Reality Podcast” welcomed guest Michael Grosso, PhD to talk about his book, The Man Who Could Fly, which details the story of St. Joseph of Copertino’s very well documented levitations. It reignited an long time interest of mine on the subject.

The account I am about to relate happened about 5 am one morning when I was a child of about seven. I slept in a small bedroom off the kitchen of a two family house in urban NJ. I was sometimes afflicted with issues during the night involving intense vibrations in my head and the feeling that “others” were in my room attempting to pull me out of my body. It was terrifying.  I was on my back lying in bed in the midst of one of these “visitations”. The back of my head and my shoulders were on the bed, but my feet, legs and derriere were being lifted on at least a 45 degree angle from the bed. I was literally paralyzed with terror.

Suddenly my father turned the light on in the kitchen. He was a shipyard worker and got up early to be at work. BANG! I fell back hard onto the surface of the bed. He heard me fall and yelled something to the effect of “What the hell was that?” and ripped open the vinyl folding door to see if I was OK. I was now fully awake and totally shocked by what happened. This could be categorized as a non-volitional partial levitation. I personally categorized it as several moments of blind visceral terror.

Levitation is said to be a form of psychokinesis in which people or objects are lifted into the air without physical support and may hang suspended or float about unaided. But if the levitation is non-volitional, who is causing the psychokinesis? This blogpost concerns human levitation.

There have been a number of documented cases of levitation throughout history, with the best documented happening within the Catholic Church. Michael Grosso points out that the reason for this is that the Roman Catholic Church keeps meticulous records, due to its connection to the Roman Empire, which also kept very good records. St. Joseph of Copertino’s numerous levitations happened indoors and out in front of thousands of witnesses over the course of years and were an embarrassment to the Church.

More recently in history we have a number of accounts of levitation by Scottish mystic and medium, Daniel Dunglas Home. Home, who lived from March 20 1833 until June 21 1886, was active in both the United States, Great Britain and Europe. He was one of eight siblings and a sickly child (as was St. Joseph of Copertino). As a child and adolescent Home had many portentious dreams of the deaths of people he knew.

Of particular interest to me is that Home spent much of his adolescence in the same area of the world (upstate NY) as the Fox sisters of Spiritualist fame and Joseph Smith, mystical founder of the Mormon religion, during the same general time frame. This area is well known for UFO sightings in the latter half of the 20th into the 21 Centuries.

There is much speculation as to whether Home actually levitated. The debunkers are very busy concocting ways that Home could have achieved his levitations, which were witnessed by hundreds of people, some of whom were leading scientists of the day, such as Sir William Crookes. One thing is true: just because something can be done by trickery does not mean that it was done by trickery. In any case, Home’s levitation was volitional levitation, that is, he chose to levitate. And levitate he did, on two continents, indoors and out.

One rather recent case of levitation happened in England to an 11 year old girl named Janet. This occurred in conjunction with the Enfield poltergeist activity in and around 1977. The case was documented by Colin Wilson in his book Poltergeist: A Study in Destructive Haunting. The poltergeist activity centered around a family with four children, but Janet was the one who levitated. Many unusual phenomena that run counter to the current theories of physics were reported in this case. It is thought that Janet’s levitation was not consciously volitional.

There are many cases of Eastern mystics who have purported to levitate, though these reports have not been documented to the satisfaction of Western standards. However, the reports are consistent and plentiful to the extent that there is even a yoga siddhi (paranormal gift) for levitation called laghima (weightlessness) which can be attained through meditation and breathing exercises (pranayama).

So who is likely to levitate?: children, saints and mystics. My conclusion is that in order to levitate one must believe that such a thing is possible. In today’s intellectual Weltanschaung filled with scientism and “Laws” of physics that are really theories, an average adult in the thrall of the mainstream mindset is unlikely to levitate. This is because of the rigidly held belief that it is impossible to do so. This rigid belief when held by a million minds can even affect the one mind that sincerely believes levitation can occur. Therefore a paradigm shift may be necessary before humans can routinely levitate.

On a more personal level, when I am in the midst of a lucid dream, I often find myself gliding around about 8 to 15 inches above the ground, sometimes through walls, surprising people I encounter. In one particularly vivid instance, I was levitating in front of a small group of people at what seemed to be an art gallery. It had happened rather spontaneously and I was not putting on a demonstration. I recall the feeling of first becoming aloft was rather like pushing off from the wall of a swimming pool. The funny thing that happened in this dream is that one of the onlookers called in a group of parapsychologists to investigate. When these four august gentlemen arrived I thudded back to the floor, unable to rise even an inch.

My levitation meditation: Lie flat on your back in a dark or dimly lit room. You can lie on a yoga mat on the floor or on a firm bed without a pillow. You should not be cold, nor should you be weighed down by quilts. I advise wearing non-constricting cotton knit pajamas or the like and covering oneself with a flannel sheet. Your arms should be by your sides but not touching your sides with palms face up in the manner of the yoga position Shivasana or corpse pose. Your eyes should be closed. Your breathing should be deep and consistent. Starting from your feet relax each part of your body consecutively, moving up to your head and ending with relaxing your brain. Notice then if any part of your body is cold. If so, concentrate on that body part, feeling it tingling and getting warmer. Now that you are relaxed, become aware of the plane of your body which is touching the floor or surface beneath you. Become aware of exactly where your body is touching the surface, and become aware that there is something that is neither the surface nor your body but a separate strata that is neither your body nor the surface. Concentrate your awareness on that strata that is neither the surface nor your body and feel that strata becoming thicker and your body becoming lighter. Continue in this manner for as long as you are able. You may then fall asleep or continue to meditate or gently rouse yourself from the meditation by counting downward from 10 to 1, with 1 being the state of total wakefulness.

behind8ballI have been writing this blog for over 8 years and this has been the longest time I have gone without writing a post. Last year I started Shattered Reality Podcast with co-host Kate Valentine and sound engineer Bill Moraites. Somehow this venture has eaten up a lot of my writing time.

For those who have not listened to Shattered Reality Podcast this post may serve as a guide to the individual programs you might be interested in hearing up to the December 2015 broadcast. There are shows about all manner of anomalies and parapsychological studies and experiences. The highlighted links will bring you to the audios for each podcast. The podcast is also available at http://shatteredrealitypodcast.com and http://shatteredrealitypodcast.wordpress.com. We are putting the shows up on iTunes as well and there are more than ten up there already.

The first show we did over a year ago featured veteran radio personality Don Ecker and we talked about Moon anomalies. Don has been hosting Dark Matters Radio for a number of years and is well known in the UFO community.

Podcast #2 examined the book “Walking Through Walls” by Philip Smith about his father, Lew Smith, the psychic healer, and life in Miami in the mid twentieth century.

Our next guest was Mack Maloney a prolific writer of military fiction and two very accessible books about UFOs: Beyond Area 51 and UFOs in Wartime.

Mathematician and aerospace engineer Robert Schroeder (Podcast#4) wrote a book about the physics of how UFOs may be propelled called Solving The UFO Enigma: How Modern Physics is Revealing the Technology of UFOs.

Natalie Sudman’s account of being blown up in Iraq and having an out of body and near death experience makes for a must listen show.

Next we were joined by Albert Rosales who has amassed the world’s largest collection of humanoid sightings.

Podcast #7 features image analyst and former Paracast co-host David Biedny speaking about the nature of the paranormal.

Next, Kate Valentine and Fahrusha have a nice chat with the British born psychic, shaman and remote viewer Angela Thompson Smith.

The mysteries of psychokinesis are revealed on Podcast #9 with University of Virginia’s Dr. Ross Dunseath.

Ken Pfeifer who is the head of NJ MUFON  (Mutual Unidentified Flying Object Network) joined us for discussion. He also runs a database of sightings called http://www.worldufophotos.org/.

The late great airline pilot, Captain Andy Danziger told us his account of a very amazing UFO sighting and David Biedny offered an opinion piece about the Roswell slides debacle.

Ellen Hodgson Brown is our 12th podcast guest discussing her 12th book, Web Of Debt. Syncronicity, or what? 🙂

Lucky #13 is Col. John B. Alexander, Ph.D., who has the inside scoop on UFOs with his book UFOs, Myths, Conspiracies, and Realities.

Alex Tsakiris, host of Skeptiko podcast, joins Kate Valentine and Fahrusha to discuss his views about a host of paranormal and spiritual subjects.

This post was inspired by two articles that I recently posted on Shattered Reality Podcast‘s fan page on Facebook.

The first article comes from the BBC and is entitled: Earth ‘entering new extinction phase’-US study. This article, frankly, makes all other news reports irrelevant and unimportant by comparison. You should click the link and read it for yourself, but briefly it outlines a Stanford, Princeton, and Berkeley study that states that Earth has begun the sixth mass extinction which will put an end to human kind and all large mammals, most birds and amphibians, due to human overpopulation, destruction of ecosystems and global warming. The loss of bees is particularly important. It is a very bleak picture indeed.

It is articles like this and being bombarded with news stories of humans perpetrating unconscionable acts on other humans, companion animals and the ecosystem that makes me frequently disgusted with, disappointed in, and wanting no part of the species to which I apparently belong. This is obviously not a good state of mind to be in, especially since it is most healthy to exist in a mental space of unconditional love. I spend much of my focused meditation time on projecting unconditional love to Our Planet Earth and the Sun and to numerous animal and plant species.

The second article: Evidence Group Consciousness May Have a Physical Effect on the World gives a little hope. Referencing the Roger Nelson’s PEAR (Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research) studies with Random Event Generators, this article points out that individuals can have a physical effect on the generators, couples exert a larger effect and groups of cohesive individuals can have the biggest effect recorded. Please read this excellent article by Daniel Lew to better understand Random Number Generators and Random Event Generators.

The idea that we as a group could have a tangible effect on physical reality may be mind boggling to some, but it is also the predictible flowering of the fruit of quantum mechanics. Though the PEAR lab at Princeton closed a few years ago, Roger Nelson has continued with his work now called The Global Consciousness Project. This may be the most important consciousness research going on in the world right now and our last best hope to save ourselves. I personally want to learn more about it and so should you.

Addendum: This article in no way means to imply that every human on Earth should not do her and his best to be as ecologically aware as possible to preserve our environment the Earth.

Update:

Fahrusha and Kate Valentine are proud to present Dr. Roger Nelson, former research director at PEAR Lab and head of the Global Consciousness Project.

At a private meditation group last night I was having trouble getting into the zone. My body was aching a bit and the habits of my monkey mind were disturbing me. One habit in particular that I had observed before was the mind as commentator with the purpose of remembering the experience. How does one still the mind and yet remember the experience? This particular meditation group sometimes has guided meditation or meditation with a goal or mental trip involved and participants are encouraged to share their experiences. (more…)

Today I listened live to the last (for now) Kate Valentine UFO show. I say “for now” because I know that Kate and friends (myself included) have an abiding interest in astronomy, unidentified aerial phenomena and the true nature of reality. I am the first to admit that the true nature of reality may surpass human understanding and whether UFOs come from other planets, other dimensions, other times, all three or a (non)place beyond the time space continuum, we will stay engaged with the larger subject.

I’m sending a big “Thank You” out to Kate and her crew: Dave at the station, Bill and Carrie and other guests with whom I have had the pleasure to interact, in person and remotely. I have learned much about the theories of other ufologists, both in and out of the mainstream, some of whom I probably never would have discovered without the show. My week will be a bit less fun without the Kate Valentine UFO Show to listen to on Fridays. But I raise a symbolic glass to further adventures in the future with Kate and the crew.

I’m including underneath some links for the Kate Valentine UFO Show. I hope they stay active.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-kate-valentine-ufo-show/id367295290

I have been a guest on show episode numbers 13, 39, 44, 49, 95, 96, 122 (not sure I got them all) and have called in on many others. Thanks, Kate!

The other archive is at: http://atlanticcoastufos.com/blog/category/past-kate-valentine-ufo-shows/

I’ll also miss hearing the show’s theme song which I believe was written by Bill and Carrie Moriates, but I have the archives on my iPod to listen to anytime I need to hear them.

If you are a skeptic regarding life beyond the Earth and/or UFOs, suspend disbelief for a few moments and ponder the possibilities. If an alien race were to contact or visit our planet Earth with whom would they (or it) want to communicate? This would depend on several factors.

Certain people who study such things are drawn to the hypothesis that all evolution across the Galaxy, and perhaps across the Universe would follow a similar pattern. This hypothesis is bolstered by yet another hypothesis called panspermia. According to this theory, life is seeded throughout the galaxy by objects (often and most prominently comets) flying through the cosmos. When a comet, composed largely of ice, passes close to a star, a tail or coma is generated due to the gravitational and magnetic force of the star. The coma is the visible part of the matter ejected from the comet. The matter ejected could contain dormant spores and viruses which over time, as the planets circle their star, may rain down on them in small quantities when the planets pass through the trajectory of that comet. (Please read about the theory of panspermia by Hoyle and Wickramasinge.) So if all life originated on different planets from these same building blocks it might be expected to follow a similar pattern. I find this to be an attractive hypothesis but it has not been definitively proven.

It is plausible that there are several evolutionary paths that cause life to form on different planets. There could be a pathway that uses methane as a main building block or silicon in place of carbon. There could be life forms which neither breath nor respire. The possibilities are virtually limitless and depend on how we define life. Does life require breathing, breeding or consciousness; or all three?

Earth as viewed from NASA's Apollo 8 mission. (courtesy of NASA)

Then we come to the question of size and purpose. The size of the beings would probably be in some way related to the gravitational force of the planet on which they evolved. If the beings chose to communicate with Earth from afar, size would not be a major factor. Purpose, however, would be. Since the first episodes of Star Trek, ufologists and other interested folks have been entranced by the idea of a galactic federation of humanoid beings. Such an idea postulates that advanced alien races have banded together in some manner for the good of the Galaxy or Universe. With such a worldview or Weltanschauung, the alien beings wish us here on Earth no harm and may even be following some form of anti-interference code.

Other prominent ideas include aliens visiting our solar system in order to mine or retrieve elements or compounds unavailable on their home planet or galactic neighborhood. High on the list of things that some say the visitors may have come for are water and gold. Another less savory theory (for humans anyway) is that aliens may come to abduct, mutilate, enslave or consume us and our animal companions (cattle mutilations). Or maybe there are different aliens and inter-dimensional creatures visiting or communicating for different purposes.

In ufology circles, one often hears a comment to the effect that in order for the truth to be revealed about UFOs, a space ship would have to land on the White House lawn. I find this rather comical in an anthropocentric and Americocentric way. Why do we think other beings would want to communicate with the American government or any other human government? Why would they want to communicate with humans at all? We have done such a piss poor job of maintaining the Planet that we are likely to become largely extinct within the next two hundred years. Why not speak to the cetaceans (whales and dolphins) or cephalopods (squids and octopi)? Both groups have highly intelligent member groups and the cetaceans appear very peace loving. Perhaps the visiting alien race has a “group mind” and certain insects such as ants, bees or termites would be the object of their communiques.

Or in a more sinister vein, suppose the world from which the strangers sprang never had a major asteroid collision? The dinosaurs were the dominant group on the Earth for more than 180 million years before the asteroid hit (theory) and wiped them out, far longer than humanity has been the dominant (and now over-populating) Earth species. I am not the first person to speculate that reptilians could be visiting, or insectoids, for that matter.

Any species capable of travelling or communicating across the light years of interstellar space would certainly be more technologically advanced than humanity, and could be sending out self replicating robots to do their dirty work (can you spell Greys? :-)) It is also possible that they have learned to communicate mind to mind and do not require radio waves (So much for SETI!) or other physical means of communication. Furthermore they could logically be capable of affecting our minds into seeing what they want us to see and be seen or not seen as they wish it. After all, octopi and other earth based life forms practice effective camouflage and they have never even invented the wheel.

But supposing these aliens wanted to communicate, who would they choose? I maintain that it would depend on their purpose. Benevolent aliens would not choose to communicate with violent beings who are destroying their environment unless they had a means by which to alter this rapacious behavior.

Fahrusha is a professional intuitive who thinks a lot about cosmology.

In August I was browsing through the Kirpalu catalog and was seized by a heretofore unknown urge to sign up for “Holotropic Breathwork” with the venerable Prague psychiatrist Dr. Stanislav Grof and his assistant Tav Sparks. I’m not certain what made me so sure I wanted to do it, but I had absolutely no reservations. Hey, a weekend in the Berkshires in early fall sounds fab, no? Perhaps it was the influence of my holotropic therapist friend in Amsterdam, but no, we hadn’t discussed breathwork during my recent visit.

In any case, I signed up and as August turned into September, it was soon time to go to Kirpalu. I’d been there to visit once and then again to assist Lauren Raine in her mask making workshop several years ago.

Imagine my surprise, directly after checking in, to see my friend Dr. Joe Felser in the hall. He was also there for the breathwork class, drawn to it in an equally mysterious manner. Joe is a professor of philosophy at Kingsborough College in Brooklyn and well versed in metaphysical matters and the author of two excellent books, The Myth of the Great Ending and The Way Back to Paradise. We immediately decided it would be advantageous to choose one another as partners for the breathwork sessions. After all, the devil you know is better than the devil you don’t know! 🙂 Actually we get along quite famously though we do not have that many occasions to meet up.

The actual sessions at Kirpalu were very interesting. I did manage to enter an altered state of consciousness which was very dreamlike during my breathwork. I was rather surprised at the demonstrative nature of some of the other participants in their altered states. I wish I was better prepared for that as I found it slightly unsettling. The weekend seemed too short a time to become immersed in this very heady work. I felt it was very compelling though I was not attracted to the idea of reliving the birth trauma. In general I am a fairly happy camper and not attracted to “re-suffering” anything. However this is a keystone in Grof’s method and has no doubt helped many individuals understand the reasons for certain traits and mental aberrations. I am very, very interested in learning the part of breathwork dealing with inducing non-ordinary states of consciousness.

Serious synchronicity began to manifest when I returned home. I had purchased and read most of Grof’s book, Holotropic Breathwork  and listened to a series of nine CDs called The Transpersonal Vision before attending the class. During the lecture portions of the seminar, Grof mentioned several times another book he had written called When The Impossible Happens. It sounded so familiar to me. I could even see a trade paperback with a blue and white cover, but I couldn’t remember reading it nor buying it. It was a curious feeling. Once I got home I lifted up a few clothes from a box to be put away and there was the book When The Impossible Happens staring me in the face. I don’t know where it came from nor how it got there, and I have no recollection of buying it and that is certainly not where I would have chosen to place it.

I thought that it was a definite sign that I should read the book.  And so I began to do so. In the opening chapter he speaks of meaningful synchronicity he has observed and that had touched his life. The first example concerned the well-known Joseph Campbell, who was living on the fourteenth floor of an apartment building in Greenwich Village. At the time he was deeply involved in studying a Bushman tribe in Africa that worshipped the praying mantis as a God or as the connection to God and then he found a praying mantis on his window ledge. Quite an unusual occurrence for a Greenwich Village apartment!

This is what I saw later that day INSIDE my home:

Indoor Praying Mantis

Indoor Praying Mantis

Look at that gorgeous face! I got him/her outside safely.

Later the author described his wedding to Joan Halifax the well known anthropologist. (They are no longer married.) They had an unusual shamanic ceremony surrounded by many similar minded friends in Iceland. Oddly, I went to a wedding that Saturday night at the Bronx Zoo where the entertainers and some of the guests dressed as animals, which is probably as shamanic as it gets in New York City. The truth is I hardly ever attend weddings, as most of my friends who are the marrying kind have already done so, and in former years I missed many of their weddings due to working at events on the weekend. I average going to a wedding as a guest less than once in five years.

At the zoo.

At the zoo.

After that I temporarily stopped reading the book. The synchronicity shook me to the core. Soon I will resume.

Postscript: I am sending out a big thank you to Dr. Stanislav Grof, Tav Sparks, my co-trainers, Nataliya Tarnovskaya and Allen Howell, and my breathwork partner Dr. Joseph M. Felser.

Post-post script: On Saturday October 12th, I attended a private meditation group which encourages sharing of non-ordinary experiences which may have occurred during the meditation. I had seen a figure of a dancing whirling blue Shiva figure during my meditation and felt I might have been very suggestible due to reading When The Impossible Happens, wherein are described a series of events of Shivaic synchronicity. However that does not explain why a majority of other meditators saw blue figures, blue energy, blue light and blue objects. One meditator saw swirling energy and another an alien figure in the same physical space where I saw the dancing Shiva.

My keys, cellphone, and handbag with zippered compartment showing.

My keys, cellphone, and handbag with zippered compartment showing.

Last Friday, July 19, I was getting ready to go on a bus that leaves every half hour. I was planning to catch the 12:30 p.m. bus and was all ready to go, bus ticket in hand, when I looked inside my handbag for the keys. My keys and cellphone were put in the front pocket of the handbag (as usual) earlier in the day. The cellphone was there and the keys were not. I searched the entire bag frantically and looked all around for the keys to no avail. I felt the bag for the keys. Nothing. I shook the bag for keys. Nothing. There are five keys on the ring along with a big red R of foam rubber about 3″ x 3″ x 1″. Finally it became obvious I was going to miss the 12:30 bus, so I got a drink of water and began to think about options, like from whom I could get my apartment keys. I looked around some more and went back to my bag and there in the front pocket of the bag right next to my cell phone were the keys with the large red “R” bigger than life. I took the one o’clock bus and pondered what mechanism was at work here. Might I have been mysteriously saved from some tragedy by not getting on the 12:30 bus or were the pixies responsible? I’ll never know, but I do know that those keys were not in there when I looked thoroughly the first three times and I was totally alone, at least devoid of visible human company, so no other person could have tampered with the bag.

Later I went on Facebook and my friend Sue (who I hadn’t I hadn’t spoken to about my high strangeness) posted this account:
“Last Monday, July 15, I was mowing my acre of lawn and had made 2 passes under the 60-foot-tall pine tree at the south edge of the yard. I drove the riding mower another 50 feet west of the pine when I was suddenly unable to steer it. I hit the brake and shut off the mower. When I got off and checked the front of the mower, I found a small piece of 1/4-inch plywood 9 inches wide and 15 inches long wedged between the right front wheel and the mower deck. The wood was quite wet from the recent rains and I was unable to dislodge it or even move it a little. After trying for about 10 minutes, I gave up and since it was almost noon and very hot (Florida), I went in to eat, rehydrate, and rest. When I went out later, I found that a 7-inch diameter, 25-foot-long, living branch had fallen off of that pine precisely where the next pass of the mower would be. The branch was so heavy that I am unable to drag it off. I don’t have any idea where that piece of plywood came from because I didn’t see it when I mowed the week before. I live on my small horse farm and had the branch fallen on me, nobody would have missed me for half a day. I think that this is not only synchronicity but also divine intervention. I still feel shaken by the experience.”

What exactly can be derived from these experiences? One thing I have known for quite a few years: if you are unexpectedly delayed, go with the flow and don’t fight the current. There could be a reason. Your guardian angel, your higher self, your guides or the effulgent light of the universe itself could have your back.

One day over twenty years ago I was walking downtown on the west side of Third Avenue in New York City. I was literally pulled into an expensive (to me at the time) Italian deli a couple of blocks below 23rd Street. I had passed there dozens of times before but never went inside. I just knew my budget couldn’t deal with it. That late afternoon I could not resist going in. I had nothing I needed to buy there and I wasn’t even hungry. Yet I couldn’t resist going in. It was a small but not tiny store. I looked around for several minutes and having gotten uncomfortable with the salespersons’ “Can I help you?” queries, I quickly left.

As I made my way further down Third Avenue, I became aware of police and ambulance sirens and then an accident scene between 13th and 14th Streets. Apparently a taxi went out of control and mowed two women pedestrians down killing them. It is quite possible, had I not gone into the specialty food store, that I would have been precisely in the path of that taxi.

streetcartWikipedia defines synchronicity as “the experience of two or more events that are apparently causally unrelated or unlikely to occur together by chance, yet are experienced as occurring together in a meaningful manner”. Karl Jung was the psychologist that first gave attention to the phenomena in the 1920’s.

I like the following account of synchronicity for several reasons. Ilene is a friend of mine outside of the paranormal world and though she is a talented musician, in other ways she is simply an everyday person, without any agenda in the area of the anomalous. This true story shows how synchronicities can pop up anywhere, where you least expect them.

Ilene Weiss is a songwriter, performer, and musical clown. During the summer of 1998 she was working for several weeks as a clown at Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Ashford CT. For those of you who don’t know, it is a no-fee camp for youth, ages 7 to 15, with cancer and serious blood diseases, who reside in New England, New York or New Jersey. It was founded by actor/ philanthropist Paul Newman in 1988. (Please feel free to click on the link and send them money, you really don’t need a new pair of Louboutin spikes especially if you have hair on your chest. 😉 )

Ilene had two days off between camp sessions and decided to go to to Providence, Rhode Island on a day trip. Providence is about an hour’s ride from Ashford and a nice day’s jaunt.

During the 1970’s Ilene spent just over four years in Providence. She went there originally in the fall of 1973 as an freshman art student at Rhode Island School of Design, lived there until Dec 1977, but left RISD in the of spring 1976. So she was going to Providence for a “memory walk” to see how the town had changed in the more than 20 years since she’d left. Additionally she was currently in the midst of a romantic infatuation with a man who had lived in Providence during the same years she had. They did not know each other then.

During her “memory walk” she decided it might be a clever idea to send the man a postcard of the town, a postcard evocative of the era that they’d spent there separately. She walked around town visiting the places she’d frequented when she lived there, checking out the available postcards but they were all too new and shiny, showing more of how the place changed than how it had been when they’d both lived there, not knowing one another.

Finally she came to the College Hill Bookstore. It had been there way back when and was worth a try. She found a rack of postcards in the back of the store and again nothing but the newer cards. As she turned the rack around she glimpsed a few old ones- the color was different. She had found a few small overlooked postcards that seemed to be of the right era. And the neighborhood even looked familiar. Yes! It was a picture of the corner of Thayer and Waterman, near one of the Brown University Quads. Wow! A find! The man had gone to Brown. And, holy cow, there was the Jo-Art Copy Shop! She knew exactly where that was. She had briefly been the proprietor of Kneecap Natural Foods right around the corner from Jo-Art.

She took one of the postcards to the cash register and paid. A few minutes later she had occasion to sit down. She took out the postcard for another look, wondering what she’d write on the back of it. Something funny, yet romantic and appropriate, but not too forward. The horse cart was unusual. The faces on the card looked somehow familiar and the car was just like the one her old friend Michael used to drive. And, the young woman in profile at the cart kind of looked like her. The woman was even dressed as she dressed then. Looking closer she decided she had had the same clothes. Wait a minute, it WAS her in the photo. She was totally in shock, blown away. How could it be? But it was her, standing in profile with a kerchief on her head on the right side of the horse cart.

After regaining her composure she hurried back to the College Hill Book Store and bought their remaining stock of the postcard.

How does one explain a synchronicity such as this? What are the chances of something like this happening? And moreover, what, if anything, does it mean?

I’d love to hear about your own synchronicity, dear reader.

Proof of David Biedny's Caracas, Venezuela UFO sighting

Proof of David Biedny’s Caracas, Venezuela UFO sighting

There are hundreds of different credible reports of UFOs which I receive from Filer’s Files and Ken Pfeifer’s World UFOs and many more I read on Frank Warren’s UFO Chronicles and on the MUFON site and several other places. It is true that one needs to be a savvy consumer of information related on the internet. Certainly there are scads of questionable videos of UFOs, ghosts, Sasquatch, etc. on YouTube and elsewhere. Two others (among many) that deserve much credit are Peter Davenport of NUFORC and UFO historian Richard Dolan.  But what happens to the really good reports after a few years go by? They seem to disappear from the Earth into the ether. There is something squirrelly about this vanishing that calls written accounts of all of history into question. What has been left out on purpose and by accident? In terms of UFO history I suggest a worldwide searchable online archive maintained by a responsible group from several countries. Many of the current data bases are either not searchable or maintained by a single individual or two who make a heroic effort to preserve UFO history. Many interested people are aware that the files of one group called APRO vanished into the garage(?) of a hostile person when the founders of APRO (Aerial Phenomena Research Organization), Jim and Coral Lorenzen, died. In any case a huge legacy of information was lost, perhaps never to resurface again.

What type of report is said to make the most credible sort of UFO account? A UFO seen in daylight by multiple witnesses at as close a range as possible is best. I want to make a corollary comment here. If someone has an anomalous experience alone at night it does not make the experience untrue, just harder to verify and perhaps not as useful for scientific analysis. It is not legitimate for anyone to cast aspersions on the personal experiences of another person, but it is logically possible to disagree or refuse to accept the experiencer’s conclusions based on the solo experience. In other words, if I say that last night a blue 9 foot humanoid walked through my bedroom wall, you can’t assume I’m lying, but if I say I’m sure it was from a planetary system near Alpha Centuri and has come to eat the brains of red-haired individuals, you may ask for more proof of my conclusions.

There are two disturbing examples of revisionist and lost UFO history which have come to light recently. The first involves a recent 2011 scandal about the credentials of former UFO researcher Philip Imbrogno brought to light by Lance Moody and verified by the military research of Don Ecker of Dark Matters Radio. Sadly, Imbrogno was found to have falsified both his college and military records, but does that make his research worthless? It certainly calls his research into question. One of his books, Night Siege purportedly co-authored with esteemed UFO researcher J. Allen Hynek (and Bob Pratt in the 2nd edition), details accounts of the famed Hudson Valley sightings of the late 1980s. Several times since Imbrogno has been unmasked, I have now heard the actual Hudson Valley sightings called into question. This is very unfortunate and a great loss to UFO history. I can speak of this reliably since I know a number of first hand witnesses to this particular phenomena. There were literally thousands of persons who saw these huge black flying triangles over NY, NJ and CT during a period of time in the late 80s, including Kate Valentine of the Kate Valentine UFO Show. Sadly Hynek is no longer with us to speak to this question. Please also see my blog piece: Ufology This Summer 2011: I’m Sad, Glad and Mad!

Back a few years ago when David Biedney was the co-host with Gene Steinberg of the Paracast, an excellent podcast and radio show about UFOs (primarily) and other paranormal phenomena, he spoke of an amazing sighting he had, along with his family in Caracas, Venezuela. Those of you who listened to the Paracast at that time know that Dave was a tough questioner and didn’t suffer fools gladly. Some folks who had been interviewed by Biedny and didn’t like it, really laid into him in the Paracast Forums and other places when he could not at that time provide convincing corroboration (other than his brother) of his sighting. He has recently found that proof with the help of South American ufologist, Hector Escalante, and translated into English by Scott Corrales of Institute of Hispanic Ufology. Personally I am happy Biedny was vindicated and I think he is owed an apology by these detractors, but this brings up a much larger question as to preserving the history of UFO sightings, particularly mass sightings. It is hard to believe that these amazing encounters get lost in the mists of time so quickly.

MYSTERIOUS OBJECTS IN THE SKY OVER CARACAS

Seen By Thousands; Malquetía Radar Picked Up Nothing

There was no explanation until this morning about the phenomenon that was a source of concern for thousands of residents of Caracas and that was immediately associated with the controversial notion of “flying saucers, following the quick flyby of four luminous objects crossing the skies of the capital city within 15 seconds. Interpretation of the controversial event is the account that no nocturnal overflights by combat aircraft were involved, and that the Radar Operations Center at Maiquetía, from where the objects were also sighted, did not pick up anything on its various electronic systems.

ON AN WEST-EAST DIRECTION

Transit of the unidentified flying objects was witnessed by thousands of persons. Dozens of phone calls were received at the “2001” newsroom as from 11:30 last night, requesting information on the matter. Reporters of this newspaper, returning from an assignment in Maiquetía, also witnessed the flight of the luminous objects, along with other people who saw them in places as distant as Catia or Prados del Este.

Among the witnesses is a commercial airliner captain whose name is kept confidential and who provided a more nuanced version in accordance with his logical awareness of aeronautics. Our source explained that it was a formation of four luminous objects – a main one, lacking a tail, and three acting as “escorts”, leaving a luminous wake as they crossed the heavens – which appeared in the southern area of Caracas at 11:30 p.m… The formation was located at an elevation of between ten to fifteen degrees over the horizon, crossing the skies over Caracas in a West-East direction at prodigious speed. The four objects vanished – to the eyes of the informant, who was located at Prados del Este – behind the hills of Petare in the La Lagunilla sector. The flying objects covered the entire distance in no more than 20 seconds at a speed far in excess of any known jet, and making no noise whatsoever.

This account was confirmed by passerby on Avenida San Martin, as well as others in the capital’s downtown area and even by residents of Los Ruices.

AT MIRAFLORES AND MAQUETIA

News of the unforeseen and inexplicable appearance of the unidentified flying objects became known even in the Miraflores Palace, where President Carlos Andrés Pérez and his Ministerial Cabinet were holding an extended session at the moment, one whose outcome was expected by dozens of journalists. The event was remarked upon, although there was no formal interpretation of the occurrence.

Possibly by official request, the Radar Operations Center at Maiquetía reported that the flying objects had been visually detected, but that no electronic device had recorded their transit, as would have been the case with airplanes. The matter acquired an incredible context when it was established that no commercial flight had passed over Caracas and that the General Air Command had asked Maiquetía for a report on the subject, which proves that no nocturnal operations by Mirage supersonic fighters could have been the cause, as some suspected. A similar request for information was also made by the Ministry of Defense, as was learned in Miraflores. This corroborates the non-existence of any flight over the skies of Caracas.

In the early hours of the morning it was learned that the luminous objects had been seen only minutes before 11:30 p.m. over Marcay and Valencia, where the possibility of nocturnal exercises was also raised, given the proximity of the Palo Negro air base. This suggestion was discarded, like the others, and as of this morning the strange phenomenon still remains unexplained, waiting for the Cajigal Observatory to put forth one final possibility: that it was a meteor shower, even when this alternative has been dismissed in advance due to the fact that meteorites fall in semi-vertical trajectories and do not fly horizontally, much less maneuver, as was the case last night.

UPDATE July 6 2013: Kudos to the guys at the Paracast Radio Podcast for making mention of the fact that David Biedny found the proof of his sighting in their recent episode (06/16/13) featuring Nick Redfern.

Authors Linda LeBlanc and John Knowles and Artist Patty Ray Avalon

Awakening Far Memories Authors Linda Leblanc and John Knowles and Artist Patty Ray Avalon

Since reading The Search for Bridey Murphy as a child I have been fascinated by people’s accounts of their past lives. I actually have had three experiences wherein I had memories of what might be past lives. One experience when I was 14 was so strong, that I was actually transported to a different reality for a long moment. I may write about that in a later post, but now I want to clarify what I mean by a long moment. For what was about a second in our collective reality, I went to a different reality as real as ours, for the space of what might have been five to ten minutes in the different reality time.

The theory that appeals to me most regarding reincarnation involves the concept of “no time”. That is that there are both past, future and current lives happening simultaneously. When one adds to it the concept “We are all One” and the concept of multiple Universes, I think we may be getting somewhat beyond what the Monkey Brain can accurately fathom (but my monkey brain is trying). From here we can go in two directions: a. that our consciousness forms a “string” of lives for the purposes of Soul growth and experiences a multiplicity of roles in order to learn, or b. because we are all One, it is very possible that another consciousness or being can pass through our consciousness allowing us to see or experience a part of that soul’s incarnation on Earth plane. Either way, this is very compelling territory to explore.

Up until several years ago I had been wary of exploring that territory, especially if it meant being hypnotized by someone who had a fixed idea about reincarnation, since my thoughts are still flexible on the matter, which you Dear Reader, may have gleaned from the paragraph above. At that point a lovely woman I know named Patty Ray Avalon became the artist on a deck of cards and book called Awakening Far Memory, the Reincarnation Deck(Authors Leblanc and Knowles). I purchased the set for my collection and after some study began to use the cards with select clients. I did not offer the service of exploring past lives to the general public but only to those established clients who expressed an strong interest in the subject.

There are sixty one cards in the deck divided into five categories: Occupation (14), Culture (17), Environment (9), [Life’s] Theme (11) and Termination [cause of death] (10). When using the cards, I first give a general explanation to the querant about the method I am about to employ. We then move into a short purpose driven meditation together, after which I spread out each card category face down, one category at a time, and ask the client to pick a card from each. When five cards have been chosen the cards are turned over and we look over the selected cards to be sure that (s)he has the bare bones of the lifetime which (s)he is about to explore. It is a minimal discussion because I do not want to make extraneous comments which would affect the outcome of the next step. An example of card choice might be: Builder (occupation), Renaissance (culture), Town (environment), Freedom-Servitude (theme), and Accident (termination). As you can see, not too much discussion is necessary at this point of the reading.

Next I ask the person to lie down and relax to the sounds of a Hemi-Sync selection and gently guide them to a state of deep relaxation. I usually repeat the names of the cards selected and depending on the results of the purpose driven meditation I might ask a few neutral questions. I sit by, pen in hand, ready to record what is divulged about the newly discovered lifetime. When the meditation is over we discuss the experience the seeker has had while (s)he was deeply relaxed and focused. Often individuals who do this exercise report that their view of their present life has changed and sometimes their view of the nature of reality is altered as well. Amazingly more than one person has revealed to me that the lifetime they saw in meditation had also been the subject of recurrent dreams prior to the reading. This deck is a tool for serious research not play.

I have not yet discussed the excellent accompanying book here. One reason for that is because I have an unusual approach to utilizing new oracle and tarot decks. Because I want to get as much inspiration as possible from Source first, I study the cards by themselves. Later I read the book. In this case the book provided a wealth of knowledge from two very erudite esoteric scholars of recorded history as well as the arcane history of our planet.

Moving on to a Friday evening in the very recent past, I was sitting with several convivial colleagues around a warm candlelit dinner table, sipping some tasty Greek red wine at the Fallen Oak Bed and Breakfast, when two individuals I’d never met before (in this incarnation) entered the room and were introduced to the table as Leblanc and Knowles. Unable to control my excitement, I blurted out, “You created the Reincarnation Deck! I use it all the time. I’m so pleased to meet you both.” And thus began a friendship I hope will span lifetimes…

This article is dedicated to the memory of Neil Armstrong and Sally Ride, both of whom passed into the great beyond this year. They both were incredibly brave American heroes.

In 1969 Neil Armstrong was the first human to walk on the Moon and Sally Ride was the youngest person to travel into space and the first American woman in space.

If you have ever been to the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida and have seen the space capsules up close and personal, you may begin to understand the amazing bravery of our astronauts. Most of us would not have the courage necessary to step inside and blast into the cosmos in what looked to me like a large metal can. One must immediately acknowledge the possibility of not returning to Earth alive, knowing the many perils that might beset the delicate capsule and trusting the ground crew implicitly. Yet they both volunteered without hesitation.

There are many articles on the internet about both Sally Ride and Neil Armstrong which I invite you to explore. I was an admirer of both and as a child wanted more than anything else to be an astronaut. One point I wish to explore currently is why the US apparently never has returned to the Moon after the Apollo 17 mission on Dec 7, 1972. I do not contend that I know the answer. The official story (which could be true) is that it proved too costly. There are two alternate theories which state that either the astronauts were warned off the Moon by aliens or that the US did indeed go back to the Moon and beyond but they did so as part of a deep black (ultra-secret) space program. The most interesting aspect of the latter theory is the information related by British hacker Garry Mc Kinnon about what he found on NASA websites.

The Moon is a fascinating place for me and I have spent some time contemplating Moon mysteries. As a student of remote viewing (I find that the study of remote viewing enhances psi functioning.), one of my strangest targets was given in a class I attended at the Omega Institute in 2002 taught by David Morehouse, a former government RVer. It was toward the end of a seven day course. As always, we in the class were blind to the target. In my viewing I went back to the summer of 1969 and Woodstock. In my current terrestrial life I am not very musically talented and only have learned to play finger cymbals, but I am always getting musical cues while remote viewing (go figure). So for this target I went back to the time of Woodstock through the music. To make a long story short the target turned out to be the first manned lunar landing which occurred during the same summer, the Woodstock Festival was August 15-18, 1969 and the lunar landing occurred on July 20, 1969. In remote viewing the target can be anywhere in time or space and in Morehouse’s class we had some targets from ancient times. I think it was notable since the entire history of humanity is a long time, that I was only about 3 weeks off in discerning the time of the target but I could not understand why I went so off course in terms of the place. Morehouse commented the following day that he had used the target in other classes and the results were always weird and odd. The Moon was full on the night our class attempted that remote viewing target. For some reason I took a photo of the full Moon after I left class that night. The target was not revealed until the following morning. Side note: Here is a link to the Kate Valentine UFO show in which I am interviewed about my remote viewing studies. Scroll down to Friday Nov. 30, 2012.

A second interesting event involving the Moon occurred in my life surrounding the NASA bombing (LCROSS) of the Moon October 9, 2009, at 11:31 UTC  (6:31 EST). Purportedly NASA was attempting to discover how much trace water was in the lunar soil for possible future lunar missions. A few weeks before the event occurred I was already quite upset with the idea of bombing the Moon. Hadn’t we humans already bombed our beautiful Earth enough? How do we know that the Moon is not a living entity like Gaia, our Earth? Now we had to start bombing other heavenly bodies? It seemed like a very bad idea to me.

I set my alarm to wake early that morning and watch the bombing live on NASA TV on the internet. I was upset but as it turned out there was almost nothing to watch. The expected plume of Moon dust from the explosion never materialized, though some folks said the Moon rang like a bell. How they knew this I do not know.

Having awoken earlier than usual to witness this explosion, I decided to go back to bed to meditate and ask forgiveness of the Moon on behalf of the creatures of the Earth. I went into an alpha state of awareness, mind awake, body still. And though I was aware of being physically in my bed, my mind travelled to the Moon. As I drifted above the chiaroscuro surface at a  height of approximately 20-30 feet or so it seemed to me though there was nothing familiar on which to base that calculation. In the upper left corner of my vision I became aware of an object or assemblage of objects. As I began to focus on it, it looked like a disused piece of machinery resting in a “valley” area. Generally oblong in shape, it appeared to be metal, somewhat wrecked and in the shape of a very short train, though it was not a train. My “astral vision” was attempting to make sense of the object when suddenly I heard a voice behind me. It was a male voice with a soft Southern (US) accent. He or it said, “You have to leave here immediately, Ma’am. You have no clearance to be at this location.” Immediately I was back in my bed.

I thought I was remote viewing the surface of the Moon, but now I think I went there astrally, because it seems I was detected. But by whom or what? The voice that startled me could have been that of a military intelligence officer or even stranger, something that wanted to sound like someone reasonably familiar to me. I was NOT asleep. I have not attempted to go back there, so frightening it was to me. Later that day or the following, I wrote a blog post about the experience. Around the beginning of 2012 I went back to reread what I had written, but it was no longer there nor were any of the drafts. All that remained of the post was a category that I created for it called “save the moon”. Who or what removed my post I doubt I’ll ever know.

A very famous remote viewer named Ingo Swann has a published account of a visit he made to the Moon and I suggest that if you have interest in this topic that you read it.

Ufologist Ken Pfeifer has been examining NASA photos of the moon for anomalies and I present one of his discoveries here.

Moon anomaly Courtesy Of NASA and Ken Pfeifer.

There are a number of others who study moon anomalies including Don Ecker, host of Dark Matters Radio Show and podcast. A number of astronauts have reported seeing anomalous moving objects while aloft or on the Moon but most have retracted their statements or become enigmatic on the subject. Astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell is most outspoken on the subject of aliens but does not say that he saw them while on the Moon.

Following are a few links to more information on the subject: (more to come)

I dreamt of you

And awoke to discover that you had died.

I looked all over to find your photograph

In boxes of yesterday’s memories

It was not necessary

Because your image is burnt into my heart.

A woman I know had a long term relationship with a man that lasted on some level in excess of thirty five years. They met when they were both in their early twenties and fell in love at first sight. When they saw each other the first time both of their hearts felt like they had fallen through their stomachs and onto the floor where they became inexorably bound for years to come. At the time the woman was in a relationship. The new man wanted to marry the woman but she did not trust the intensity of their feelings and wondered if it was some form of insanity. Their passion for one another was unquenchable.  The man’s behavior was very strange almost from the start. He spent much of his free time alone in his apartment and did not go out. He had problems with addiction and as years wore on he no longer wanted to marry the woman. He only wanted to stay alone at home and get high. He had few if any friends. The woman felt horrible and heartbroken. No one ever knew how the man felt because he confided in no one at all. The woman always knew when the man was calling her on the phone. Even before caller ID and after it when his number was listed as “unknown”, she’d simply answer the phone addressing him by his name, even if she hadn’t seen him for months or later, for years. When the woman eventually married a different person the man moved far away but continued to call the woman at regular intervals entreating her to visit him, offering her the airfare and great food. They made a pact after he moved to be sure that if something happened to one of them, the other would be notified. But they were both in good health and didn’t worry.  The woman did not answer one of the man’s emails because she was offended by something he had written. She did not hear from him for a year and when she did, she was embarrassed to see that he had written her something of a love letter. She didn’t know how to respond because all she could think was “too little, much too late”. She answered in a pleasant but noncommittal manner and when he wrote back again in a passionate manner she did not answer at all, because she was a wife and a mother and he had had his chance before and had continually disappointed her. About two years passed and the woman had a disturbing phenomena happen more than once. She would be lying in her bed alone in the liminal state when she would feel a large body lying next to her. She could feel/hear the body breathing. Terrified, she’d rouse herself to find no one there. Then one night she had a lucid dream in which she was with the man again. It broke off abruptly. She awoke and went straight to her computer and searched the man’s name. The breath was knocked from her gut when she saw that he had died on her birthday . Her heart hurt but no tears came forth. After much searching and pleading she discovered the cause of his death, but in her heart she knew he died of self imposed loneliness and much too young. Then she had another dream in which they were together and he spoke of the oneness of consciousness wherein they would always abide.  She wants to believe that this is true and that it was really him in her dream but worries that it is all an elaborate fantasy. Now occasionally she dreams of an apartment in Secaucus NJ where she’s never been except in dreams, where they have inexplicably met for years only in dreams, though neither of them ever lived there. And he kisses her softly on the lips before he dematerializes.

The Sagaponick House by Paul Georges

The veil has been very thin of late.

A little over a week ago I was wondering mightily about whether those no longer on Earth plane could influence the lives of those still here. I was not thinking of those who had not moved on (ghosts), but more about anyone on the other side sending good or bad or indifferent events into one’s life.
I decided to write to Basil Bristow an accomplished channeler, who currently channels a very helpful being named Pretorius asking him my question and received an constructivel answer but one more to do with those souls who are misfortunately stuck between worlds.
Last week a few days later (Tuesday) after sending my request to Basil, I had occasion to talk with two other people about some of my experiences in Bridgehampton and Sagaponick, adjoining communities on the Eastern tip of Long Island. These conversations did not involve the afterlife except in that some of the people I remarked upon are no longer living. When speaking to the second person I related in glowing terms how in my late teens I spent some happy and intriguing August days at the summer home of Paul Georges, a renowned painter, and his wife Lisette and their two daughters, Paulette and Yvette and some other artist friends. There were paintings, drawings, wine, kittens and delicious food to be enjoyed. I spoke of the way Georges encouraged young artists and how the community was welcoming.
The following day I received a call from a young lady who identified herself as Lisette. I did not initially catch her last name. She wanted me to participate in an online video project for MySpace Music that very day, October 11. That was going to be very tricky to accomplish, but I ended up doing a reading on camera for an attractive young singer named Sky.
In making the arrangements I discovered Lisette’s last name was Paulson! I felt as though this was a clear message from the late Paul and Lisette Georges, or one heck of a co-incidence. Later when I met Lisette Paulson in person I was struck by her resemblance to one of the other (then young) artists who spent time with me at the Georges’ home, Stephanie DeManuelle. Added to this was Lisette’s telling me that she enjoys spending quite a bit of time out in the east end of Long Island.

I think that Paul and Lisette Georges sent this event into my life after I spoke appreciatively about their hospitality, thus answering my question. My thanks to them both for opening their home to me then, and my answer now.

A female human receiving inspiration. From an oracle deck called The Rainbow Bridge Tarot by visionary artist Lauren Raine. See end of article for link to this deck.

Sometimes while in a light meditative state certain things occur to me out of the blue. I have learned to pay attention to these unusual but seemingly random thoughts. Sometimes these thoughts are about my health and my body and I feel these thoughts may not originate in my brain but in my body parts and they are sent to the brain where they are brought gently into my awareness.

This idea is given life by studies which indicate that other organs, principally the heart, have their own intelligence and by other findings about the amazing awareness of certain animals without highly developed brains in the mammalian sense, such as the squid and octopus.

The first memorable incident of this odd personal medical intuition came a number of years ago when I was diagnosed with mildly elevated cholesterol levels at a rather young age. In my case this is not primarily a lifestyle and diet problem but a hereditary issue. I was musing over this situation and it occurred to me somewhat out of the blue that I should eat eggplant everyday for lunch. I was even given a recipe: make a slice halfway through the eggplant after washing it and cutting off the stem. Do not remove the skin of the eggplant. Put a couple of cloves of peeled garlic into the slice. Wrap the eggplant in aluminum foil and bake in the oven until soft. Remove from the oven and mash the eggplant and garlic adding cayenne pepper. Salt is allowed. Put on Scandinavian style whole grain flat bread and eat. Do not use any oil at all.

I followed this pretty faithfully every day for about a month. I went back to have my blood tested and discovered that my cholesterol levels had dropped by over 30 points! I gave my recipe to a number of people including my father and his brother, my uncle. My uncle said he had added this food to his diet and also experienced a drop in his levels. Though both men are now deceased, neither died of heart or circulatory disease and both lived into their late eighties and both had hereditary high cholesterol. My father did not take statins and neither did my uncle to my knowledge.

I personally still prepare this recipe and find it healthful, although I must admit I do not eat it often enough. I was shown a scene from inside my body by Spirit (I guess) in which I saw the eggplant in my intestine pulling fat molecules from my intestine wall. Recently I read about a new medical discovery that uncovered dried apples as a food that reduces cholesterol levels in women. I imagine that the mechanism is similar.

Warning: I am not a medical professional. This account is anecdotal.

Another instance of this odd intuition came to me some years ago while I was cleaning my ears in the manner one is cautioned against- with a Q-tip! I had noticed for awhile (this is sort of gross) that my earwax was copious and oily. All of a sudden this thought popped into my mind (almost verbatim): “This is probably not a good sign, the next thing you know ‘they’ll’ (researchers) probably say that this kind of earwax predicts a susceptibility to breast cancer.” A month or two later I read just such an article in a magazine. Thankfully I no longer have this sort of earwax.

Most recently I noticed skin tags (acrochorda) in one of my armpits. These are little bits of extra skin which are raised from the surface. In my case they were more annoying than disfiguring. I went to a dermatologist who cut them off and biopsied them. No problem, but then they grew back. More annoying after spending a considerable sum to remove them. Again an idea popped into my mind. Put tea tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) oil and thuva oil on them regularly. I do not like the smell of thuva as much as tea tree oil so I began applying tea tree oil to the tags every morning after washing. At this point I am happy to say they are nearly gone. At some point during my self imposed treatment I decided to check on the internet for natural remedies for skin tags and also to see if what I was doing would be deemed safe. Both tea tree oil and thuva oil are prominently mentioned as remedies but the kicker is that there is a product for sale, by Dermisil, a proprietary formula of sorts for skin tags whose primary ingredients are…you guessed it…tea tree oil and thuva oil.

Now these experiences are not radical. My being is not taken over by the entity of the famous Doctor Fritz (an extraordinarily compelling story). My guess is that this is my own body speaking to me. Other plausible theories would include that these messages come from my higher self, the collective unconscious or universal mind (God), or a disembodied entity (back to Doctor Fritz).

While I have not come up with the cure for all disease I am sure that humanity could lessen suffering thru banning nuclear reactors (The unresolved Fukishima incident will cause millions of cancer deaths in the next twenty years.) and having much more respect for Our Mother Earth.

In answering the comments on the previous post, I was reminded of an amazing cat story in which I participated briefly. This happened in New York City’s East Village circa 1990. A woman, an artist, who is now deceased lived across the hall from me with her husband and a cat named Bass. It was a sixth floor walk-up with an elevator that sometimes worked. I did occasional readings for the woman in exchange for a glass of wine. We were sort of friends. I had a special relationship with the cat and would read him from time to time by petting him and mentally asking him questions, to which he would answer directly to my mind very clearly. I would convey this information to the woman, who would then generally do what the cat required.

One evening the woman told me how the cat had come to live with her. It was a cold winter night as she made her way home. When she got a few steps from the doorway of the tenement, she became aware of the cat meowing pitifully behind her. She bent down and petted his shivering body, promising to bring him a can of cat food when she got up to her apartment to fetch it. I think the woman had once had another cat that had passed on some years previously and she remembered the lingering can in her cupboard.

She unlocked the two bullet-proof glass doors that separated the January chill from the steam heat. The elevator worked that evening and sped her to the sixth floor. After unlocking the door to her tiny home, she put down her handbag on the kitchen table and fetched the promised can from the cupboard and headed back to the door of her apartment two steps away with the intention of bringing down the cat a nice supper.

Imagine her surprise when upon opening the door who ran into her apartment but the very cat! She hadn’t let him in and he wasn’t in the elevator with her, so it was rather mysterious how he had gotten in and found her door on the sixth floor so quickly. But it was clear that the cat was at home so she allowed him to stay, especially since her husband, a musician, was out of town on a gig.

Several nights later when her husband was still away, the woman had a startling dream, almost a nightmare, that filled her with awe. The cat came to her in a realistic dream as a giant cat-headed figure larger than a human, and in a deep and resonant voice that shook her body, proclaimed, “I am Bass!” or at least that is what she heard. So naturally she called the cat Bass. And Bass became an accepted member of the household.

Now the woman, an artist, as I had mentioned previously, was an intelligent college educated person, but apparently never studied any ancient Egyptian mythology, because when I asked her if she was certain that the cat in her dream said Bass and not BAST she looked at me blankly and said something like, “I think so, what difference does it make?” I found it remarkable that she had never heard of BAST.

BAST is/was the protector Goddess of lower Egypt, where cats were worshipped and none so much as BAST. She is a glorious cat-headed woman in some renderings while in others a proud lioness or an elegant cat. The town of Boubastis in the Nile Delta was her sacred place.

Now the problem with this whole story is that BAST is a Goddess and Bass was a male cat, yet I feel sure that the woman had a visitation from the Goddess BAST. I told her so and though she mulled it over in her mind, I remain unconvinced that she was duly impressed with the divine encounter she had been privileged to receive.

Several months later, it came out in a reading that the woman and her husband would be moving to California. She requested I ask Bass if he would be pleased with the move. I held the cat on my lap and questioned him. He was alarmed. He did not want to go under any circumstances. A couple of months later they moved to LA taking Bass with them, in my opinion, against his will. About two weeks after the move, I found out later, the cat got out of the house and was promptly run over.

Several days ago I was having a conversation with a friend about the function of time in the time-space continuum as it was shown to me in an ecstatic revelation in March 2000.

It is a convoluted tale which began late in December 1999. It was pre-9/11 in New York City and there had been quite a number of company holiday parties at which I had read a prodigious number of cards and palms. I was physically and psychically exhausted, but still a spiritual seeker in my down time. I wanted to practice creative visualization, at which I had already had some considerable success.

For the uninitiated, creative visualization is a mental discipline wherein, one visualizes and sensualizes (“pictures” if you will) oneself in the situation in which one would like to be, and by doing so enables the situation to occur in one’s life in the material 3-D world. This is a shorthand definition.

Have you ever heard the saying: “Be careful what you wish for.”? This is particularly true with creative visualization, because if you are at all good at it, your visualizations are likely to materialize. So you must be very sure that you want the thing or situation you are visualizing. I tried to think of something I would like to happen and would potentially be very interesting, but in which I had little if any emotional investment and about which I could think of no significant downside for myself or any others. It had to be something which was not likely to happen to me otherwise, so if it happened I could be reasonably sure that my visualization had had an effect.

I had long been a fan of Deepak Chopra and at that time I was thinking a lot about the concept of time itself and whether it was uniform on Earth and in other places and whether it could truly be characterized as a fourth dimension. So I decided that my visualization would be that I should have the opportunity to speak to Deepak Chopra one on one about the concept of time. The rules would be that I would visualize this three times over the course of ten days, which incidentally would encompass New Year’s Day 2000. I would do nothing extraordinary to make this happen, such as running off to an expensive seminar at which he would be featured, but I would go with the flow and take what opportunities were presented.

After I had done the visualization twice, I received a telephone call from a female New Age author. She wanted an intuitive reading at her home on New Year’s Eve during the day. I prefer not to go to see my clients, but rather to have them come to see me. For some reason I assented to her request, perhaps out of curiosity, perhaps because she was persuasive. She was very friendly but clearly wanted the reading done her way, which I found somewhat curious, because I was doing the reading, and I found it trying, because I could clearly tell what she wanted to hear. That is an entire story unto itself perhaps best kept to myself.

But the interesting thing was that she told me without being asked that she knew Deepak Chopra. I was taken aback that seemingly my visualization was already working. I expressed interest in her connection while carefully not asking to be introduced or anything of that nature. She totally misread my interest and told me flatly that he was a married man whose wife was always looking on. Wow! I told her clearly that my interest was NOT romantic, but she seemed adamant that it must be. This was simply embarrassing. I was very happy to scurry away after that, but sad that this was a dead end in terms of my visualization.

So I did the visualization one more time, the third time, and then nearly forgot about it as I took an interesting vacation to California. Shortly after my return I received an email from a friend in Florida in mid February asking me to sign a petition involving a TV show. Deepak Chopra was supposed to be featured on a news-magazine type format show but the network (ABC, I recall) thought the interview was too highbrow to appeal to the audience. My friend requested that I sign a petition asking the network to air the interview anyway. This brought my visualization suddenly back to mind. Although my friend is a yoga and tai chi instructor who might be assumed to like his books, we never had any specific conversation about Dr. Chopra and she was not in the habit of asking me to sign petitions and in fact I don’t think I had even spoken to her at all in the new year.

I went to the website and signed the petition. As I was reading the web page I noticed toward the bottom, that my old friend Alan Colmes was scheduled to interview Dr. Chopra on his radio show and it provided a link to click through to Alan’s show. I clicked through and sent an email note simply saying that I thought it was wonderful that he (Colmes) was interviewing someone in the spiritual (rather than the political) arena and wanting to know how I could tune in. At that point I hadn’t spoken to Alan in several years.

Quickly I received a response from Alan saying that unfortunately the show was not broadcast in the New York market, but elsewhere all around the US. I would not be able to listen, but would I be willing to be the first call-in contributor to the show as I was familiar with Chopra’s books?!!! I was dumbfounded. My visualization was going to come true. Alan told me that the reason for the interview was a new book that Deepak Chopra had written called How To Know God. Needless to say I wrote back that I’d be more than pleased, I’ll read the book, and please tell me what number to call and when. He responded that the show would call ME on that evening in March and I’d be the first caller. I got a scare when the show was postponed by a week, but that only gave me more time to read the book. I did not want to sound like an idiot when I spoke to Dr. Chopra, who I think is a very intelligent man.

The penultimate part of the story is I did get to speak to Dr. Deepak Chopra both about the nature of time and about his excellent book. He was very easy to speak with and I enjoyed our conversation immensely. My visualization had miraculously come true and proved to me the immeasurable value of visualization. I’ve not spoken to him since, although I’d welcome the opportunity, he does not regularly circulate in my environment. 🙂

What happened to me the night before the radio show was even more amazing. It was intensely personal and words alone, I am sure, will fail to accurately describe the experience. I had been thinking a lot about the nature of time as well as reading the book, in preparation for participating in the interview. Slightly before my normal bedtime I decided to retire early with the intention of meditating on the topic of time.

I had just quieted my senses to begin the meditation when I had what can only be called a Revelation with a capital R. I was spoken to inside my head by a calm clear male voice that was comforting. It allowed me to simultaneously realize that my body was lying safely in my loft bed while my astral body was being transported into Space. I was shown that time was caused by motion in Space. First I saw the Earth rotating on its axis, then revolving around the Sun. Then I saw the Sun with its solar system in concert with other solar systems traveling around the hub of the Milky Way Galaxy. The Galaxy itself was on its own journey with lots of other galaxies. Everything was traveling at enormous speeds in relation to one another. Movement in space created time. Living creatures on Earth are respiring beings with a birth, a life and a death and travel in one direction only in time, literally from birth to death. And in the corporeal sense one cannot go back in time, because every second the Earth is in a totally different space in the Universe and all the stars and planets have gotten to a different relative position. To go forward or backward in time inside one’s physical body one would literally have to move the entire Universe. Outside one’s body exploration in time is possible.

As I feared this description in no way conveys the awesomeness of the Revelation. You may or may not understand the words I wrote, and possibly have not had this sort of experience and for all I know you may not even believe me.

Two Postscripts

1.) Several years previous to this experience (above), I had lunch with Alan Colmes on University Place and Ninth Street at the Knickerbocker. During our meal the conversation wandered toward  personal paranormal experiences. I honestly do not remember the specific experiences about which we talked. After lunch we walked north on University Place where a now defunct gallery was located and we decided to look inside. We descended a small metal circular staircase to the lower level to see the exhibition there. As we walked down we heard the clatter of a piece falling off the wall. The gentleman in charge down there was quite perturbed. Not only had a framed piece fallen off the wall, but it had inexplicably fallen outward about two feet from the wall before it fell downward. I think there are some persons with which paranormal thing are more likely to happen, some sort of synergy.

2.) During the recent conversation I had with my friend that brought this revelatory experience to mind I had a flash insight as to what one sort of hell might be: After death the soul is spun off into the vast, lonely cold abyss of space left to wander by itself in absolute zero cold always conscious but never to encounter another being for the rest of eternity.
